Here is something I don't understand....I have been selling games at wholesale for over 20 years and maybe someone can drop some knowledge on me.

All of the games that are made here in the United Sates that retail for $59.99 cost wholesale around $48.00 - $51.00 dollars.

Yet, these same exact games, when sold to someone who Exports them to South/Latin America gets a discount on wholesale and pays around $38.00 - 41.00...

Yet from everything I have gathered, Games Sell at retail in South/Latin America are selling for $80.00 - $120.00 US Dollars.

Can anyone explain this? Makes no sense to me...then you run into the mess of all the crooked wholesalers taking the games that are supposed to go south and sending the,/shipping them her in the us and making $12.00 a stick instead of the $2.00!!!

Wiiu:

1) NDS's, 2DS's, 3DS's Etc, Need to be able to bu used as additional controllers. Total Epic fail they haven't done this yet!

2) Every Wiiu Should have been packed with at least 1 Pro Controller and the Publisher's would not have abandoned the system like they did.

3) The marketing sucks. 90% of NON Gamers do not even realize their was a NEW Wii System. They thought it was a controller, or hell didn't know anything!

Free - I would pay $9.99 a month just like Netflix and then be granted access to all the services available games digitally.

No other business model will work.

The XBOX One. I am no fan boy either way, I have no horse in the race.

I have all the systems, the XBOX One is truly an epic disappointment. Everything about it. It never even gets turned on and when it does it quickly gets turned off. The most basic of stuff does not even work properly. I have no issue with XBOX Music on my X360's or Cell Phones or any devices but it craps out after one song on the XBOX One. Things just a total disappointment. Can;t even do the simplest of tasks without some type of issue.

@Enfamous_Mr_BHC: Currently there is only ONE TRUE Next Gen game on the Market and it is Battlefield on the Ps4 & XBOX One.

That's it. That is the only current game that highlights what the new systems are capable of.

Hey guys,

Just wanted to share some experiences I have had regarding Digital. Mistakes I've made and things I have learned.

  • Movies/TV Shows:

You never "Own" these. No matter what you think or what it says. It does not matter if you choose "Purchase" and Pay $19.99. It does not matter if it is on your Hard Drive or not (Some my just stream what they own).

There comes a time, regardless of how long you have owned it, May be a month or so or a few years when you go play the content you will receive a message like this:

" Do to the current agreement between Microsoft and the Studio, this title is no longer available. If it becomes available again, you will have access to it".

I know what you are thinking, "I'm a noob", I rented it it and thought I bought it" , That's what I get for not downloading it on the Hard Drive". Trust me, I have ran into this numerous times and have spent countless hours talking to support about it.

Another very disturbing trend I have run into, I went to start a movie for the kids the other night and ran into this issue. So my 10 year old says to me "Dad, that's because it's on HBO, you have to use HBO Go to watch it".

What? What the hell does that have to do with the price of tea in China? Stupid kids don't know what the heck they are talking about. Well, long behold, he was right! Damn thing was on HBO (Luckily we have HBO and HBO Go) and the Digital copy I paid $19.99 for on XBOX Video would NOT Work! I've seen this happen on Rio, Harry Potter and a few others.

  • Games:

The Profile & the Machine itself BOTH get "Ownership".

No matter what it is, a Full Retail Game, A Digital Arcade Game, a Community Game or even a Map Pack. They all work like this:

Whatever system the initial purchase is made on get's 100%, Full Access to it. (I wish I knew this Thousands of wasted dollars ago, I was buying 2 to 4 copies of everything). No matter who logs in, not matter what profile is used, Even if a new profile is created anyone using the system that made the initial Purchase & Download gets total access.

So, essentially when you purchase digital you get two copies for the price of one. This isn't a scam and you are not doing ANYTHING wrong. It is completely acceptable, it is in the EULA and I was taught this by Microsoft Tech Support. They even linked me a tutorial.

So, just as another example, I got two kids, Eat More Boogers & Reading Is Dumb. If Eat More Boogers is going to make a purchase, He has to log onto his brothers XBOX for the initial Purchase, Then after that, He can log back into his own XBOX and Re-Download it. That way they both get it!

Let's say you have a ton of Digital Stuff and want to share it with a friend or Family member, Log onto their Machine with the Profile that owns everything. Transfer the user rights to your friends machine. He will get full access and yes you can both access it at the same time and play it together.

You will also have access since it is owned by two things, Your profile - Where you can re-download it and access it anywhere, anytime, and the Machine itself, since you transferred User Right.

If your friend upsets you or hurts your feelings, you can just "Transfer User Rights" again back to your machine and it will strip access from his. Total User Right Transfer can be done twice a year!

If you have any questions, let me know!

I don;t blame the PR Agency one bit. I side with them...

I'm gonna go old school on ya all for a minute BUT....

Back in My DAY! A Video Game Magazine wouldn;t even release a review of a game unless they completed the entire thing! These days reviews consist of someone throwing the game in and "Checking it out".

Look at the review on Green Lantern here at Game Spot, Who reviewed it? How long did he play it? Did he play the entire game on teh couch Co-Op or on XBOX Live like it was ment to be? No, No, No.

Look at all the Kids games that are hammered on the review sites...Of course the 30 year old jaded gamer is going to hammer everyone of them. Did he play it with his Family? Did his kids check it out? Does he even have kids? Is he even the indended demographic? Did his 8 year old nephew really like it even though he hated it?

No one reviews **** Anymore, they throw it in, check it out then "Opionion it" They don;t review it, they just give their opinion. Normally you can tell they seldom play more than an hour in!

Read a movie review from a decent source (NOT A BLOG) and see how a professional reviewer draws comparisons and finds good and bad things brings them to the forefront and entitles the reader of the review to walk away with some informative information!

A real reviewr wouldn;t give a crap if he had to BUY his own game or his own movie ticket! So a real reviewer will not be intimidated by a PR Group with holding a Free copy of a game.

[QUOTE="High-Res"]

I'm glad....

I work in the game Industry and I have to tell you I love these guys, The kid that Jail Broke the Ps3 all of them.

Look, the bottom line is everything is goimg digital WAY TOO FAST! I am an avid supporter of Digital stuff, always have been until recently.

It is to the point where in the next few years you will be forced to go digital and this is where I have a problem with it.

Most likely the next XBOX won't even take a disc! It will be an all digital machine. I think once people start seeing the bad side of digital they will be less likely to support it and the game makers will as well. It's so new that very few people have yet to see the "Bad" side.

Things that piss me off about digital:

Anything Apple does. My I phone broke, I lost everything I was told "Well rebuy it!" But you can see that I already purchased it, I have receipts "Well you should have backed it up" F them, no more Digital with them.

Ubi Soft and so many others. I can;t play my game unless I'm connected online? WTH? I undertsand if I want to play Multi Player but for a game not to work because I can't connect? A SINGLE PLAYER GAME!!??!?!

Same goes for the XBLA & PSN Arcade stuff that only launch when your connected. That is BS!

Last but not least, I am no pirate. I haven't copied or shared a game since I had a Commodore 64 but once this stuff goes 100% Digital and I can get every single thing in the world for free with a 5 Minute Software hack and some tinkering around? You would be a fool not to do it.

Everyone needs to tap teh break on this digital **** and these hackers are actually helping with that,

On top of all that the cost for High Speed Internet is going to triple over the next 5 Years, Average price will be $150.00 to $200.00 a month.

Do you honestly think all of these people are going to let you circumvent their services? You think Time Warner or any other Cable/High Speed provider is going to sit there and let you cancel every service they offer (TV, Cable TV, Premium Channels, HBO) so you can just use Netflix for 9 Bucks a month?

Hell no! They will just charge so much for Internet it will off set any of their other losses.

CarnageHeart

Considering that Apple has no usage or copying restrictions on music and music videos (there were at one point, but they were lifted) why didn't you back up your files and why is Apple to blame for your failure to prepare for the worst?

If you don't like the restrictions a seller imposes, you're within your rights to not buy their product, but not to steal it.

Much of the rest of your argument just goes to illustrate a point someone made in another thread earlier today that the mere fact someone works in an industry doesn't mean they know what the heck they are talking about.

That is exactly my point, All of my previous digital purchases were never restricted. Not a one. I could log in from anywhere in the world and if I logged into my account everything I purchased could be accessed. It wasn't limited to a certain amount of hardware or registered devices or any of that. I can log into Steam anywhere in the world and have access to all my stuff. Same goes for all my Zune purchases.

How you can defend Apple is beyond me.

"If you don't like the restrictions a seller imposes, you're within your rights to not buy their product, but not to steal it" - And what is that supposed to mean?

You never downloaded an MP3? Well aren't you just the righteous Church Goer. I'm just being honest. When any game or every game goes all digital and it becomes as easy as downloading an MP3 to make them all free the Developers and Publishers are going to regret their Digital Wave.

The best part of it is that the Publisher's are the ones pushing this, well....umm...when everything goes digital the Developers are not going to need the Publishers lol!

You won't have to deal with EA, THQ, Activision. You will be doing business Directly with the Infinityward, Dice, Blizzard, etc. There will be no more Publishers!

All I am saying is be careful what you ask for and again, everything and everything these Hackers are doing to F Up these corporations is fine by me!

God bless them! Since all this hacking has started I have not seen a single report about any individual/customers hurt by these attacks!
