Hi there...I am not a social person at all and I would rather be by myself playing video, reading a good boo or listening to NPR Radio.I don't like having friends or a girl, because I don't like to be bothered. I don't drink alcohol nor smoke,I don't like bars or mainstream music,I prefer informational Talk Radio.Games are awesome and I'm very happy with my life..And I'm not fat or lazy...I have a full-time job and I'm 35 years old...:)Juanredman1972

35 year old non-social female-less man who plays video games and listen to [informational talk radio] gossip radio. Hmmmm, I would conclude homosexuality if I didn't know any better, and I don't so... (I know a dude at work whos 42, plays WoW, doesn't have any friends and isn't social and clearly has no woman... cuz he's gay)

The Cell processor is very hard to code for, it's a very different platform. Lazy developers initially code for the XBOX 360 cuz it's easier, then do a straight port to the PS3, resulting in bad framerate optimization. The PS3 has to use (correct me if I'm wrong) the SPE's to help it process graphics. It's multiple cores play a big role in the graphics processing, whereas the 360 mostly usese just the GPU. So from that my assumption is that since they are coded to use mostly the GPU that results with the PS3 doign that as well without the use of the multiple cores, resulting in lower fps. (don't quote me on that last part lol) So basically, 360 still being the most popular at the moment results in developers concentrating on that platform first. But PS3 is doing alot better now with the price drop and so more companies will have dedicated PS3 teams. And more exclusives will come. I've read many articles already about how developers are now realizing the PS3's potential and are psyched to use it and learn more about the Cell processor. So don't go quivering over the 360 just yet, PS3 has had the worst start of any Playstation in history but it quite possibly could end up having the best mid to end-term success.

I'm absolutely fine with delays, as long as they code the damn thing right and make it run well and look nice. Cell's a hard b*tch to code for! Besides I don't even own a PS3, I'm getting one in March; so I have Resistance, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Skate, Warhawk, Assassin's Creed and another half dozen titles to look forward to and will keep me busy while the rest of the goods are being developed. And by the time I'm even done with all that I'm sure MGS4 and GTAIV would come out.

Sales have already went up 300% this holiday season due to price drop and many great titles are coming out this year. And I've found many articles on the internet about how developers are starting to learn how to code for the Cell processor. (which was the main reason why games that are coded for the XBOX360 turn out with crappy framerates on the PS3)

Here's one article I found with an interesting line in it:

"Once you put the effort in and start to understand the hardware, you can see PS3's huge technical potential," Connell told us, observing that "the SPUs [Synergistic Processor Units] are key to unlocking PS3's flexibility. The SPUs challenge us to come up with completely new tech ideas and to develop new features around them. We are going to see the quality of PS3 titles improve for many years to come as people get to grips with them. It might turn out that things we've not even thought of end up best demonstrating the power of PS3"

YAY for PS3 finally getting the credit it deserves. After so many months of bashing it's starting to shine, or will anyway. :)

I saw a Motorstorm bundle at Target. I don't know whether that was the $500 or $400 one though. I hope it's the cheaper cuz I sure as sh*t dont want a spiderman movie for my bundle those movies sucked balls. And I definately ain't wasting $100 more to get Motorstorm when I can just get it for 40 or so by now lol.

I hope PS3 has enough juice to run this beech. Or I guess I should say I hope the developers have enough brain to code for the cell processor to make it so.

Apologies for the $250 I mean to say they lost $250 and sold it for $600.

[QUOTE="GreenGoblin2099"]

[QUOTE="Prinze"]Sounds good, but it is Wikipedia...shroom76

There's an article about this here on gamespot as well... :roll:

still waiting for a reliable source... lol

they wouldnt sell it if they lost money-_-

Of course they would, and they already did. Google for the endless articles on how when the PS3 first launched it cost $850 to produce and they sold it for $250. They already lost $2 billion on the PS3 in the last year or so.

And for the guy who said he only had 4 or 5 games. That's so far, but in the long term you will end up with more. That's what I meant, the average Playstation owner will end up with a decent sized library of games. And whether or not you will sell them is irrelevant since Sony already got their money from you for the intital sale of the game. Point is in the end the game sales will accumulate to more than make up for the money lost from the console.

Dude okay, how many games does the average Playstation owner end up having? Probably over a dozen ATLEAST. When you invest in a console that expensive you will want to use it to the max (i.e. tons of games, Blu-ray movies etc) So if you count in say a dozen games @ $60 a pop that is already $720, minus whatever goes to the game dev's and the rest Sony keeps. So sony produces a PS3 for 400$, sells for 400$, minus whatever the vendor takes and you are left with say a resulting pay of $300 for Sony for the PS3 and then say 400$ for the games. That's already 700$ for a 400$ console production cost. Then don't forget Blu-Ray movies on top of that. So in the end, yes, Sony is now making a good profit off each console. And people will keep buying games as the years roll on, and the console will cost even cheaper to make, and more will buy the console cuz of price drop and more games. So yes, Sony has succeeded with the PS3, even though it had a very very bad start.

And tons of exclusives like MGS4 and God of War 3 are coming this year! w00t!
