So do u guys just have these random quotes in a folder so you can whip em out as appropriate? I think I may have to start doing that lol.

Doubt it... sometimes, you just end up remembering a funny moment in some thread a while ago, and end up reposting it for a bit of ownage! :P

I understand remembering someone making a post that would own them, but I can never find it when i need it! :x :P

It's not drm, they already explained.

In order to have the game ready at launch, you'll have to download the remaining tracks and cars.

Turn 10 need to submit the game to MS for testing before the release and before all the content is complete.

This game was designed to be part of the original vision for Xbox One, where your content automatically updates for starters. But since MS changed their policy, some of their launch games still have the old way in mind.

It's just beyond me how no one has a problem with this. Can u imagine the pure audacity of telling someone "yeah, we are giving u half the game when u buy it. You gotta download the rest later." What's the point of even selling the disk version? Just have a DD version only at this point. I assume the reason people buy a disk version rather than a DD version is 1) they like a physical copy and 2) for whatever reason, they dont want to have to wait for the damn game to download! For instance, right now the steam sale is going on, and while there are some great prices, Im not buying anything cause im in Africa, and here I have download caps, and that would quickly kill my overpriced internet download cap. That's why I buy physical, so I dont have to waste my bandwidth downloading games.

Imagine going to a car dealer, buying a car and having the dealer say "yeah here is the shell of the car...we'll ship you the engine and all the important parts some other time." Would you buy that car? Did you just pay for half a car? Cause im pretty sure when I give you 100% of the money, I want 100% of the product right there and then. I didnt pay $60 for half a disc.

And ignoring the whole shadiness of that, no one is concerned about the fact that the game is so is in such a poor state for launch, that they literally have to sell an unfinished disc then patch content in day 1? Perhaps its just me, but I'd rather have a complete and polished game post launch than a hack-job of a game day 1. This is taking "rushing a game for launch" to the next level...hell, to the next freaking dimension. MS just elevated the concept of releasing an unfinished product.

Lets hope people who buy the disc version dont get hit by any server issues when trying to download the rest of the game...

[QUOTE="Wasdie"]

I've been playing it on the PC. It's shallow, repetitive, and still pretty unpolished. I don't see much end-game and there are no tutorials for the more advanced stuff. You can tell it's an MMO designed for the consoles with some of the decisions they made.

It's not terrible, but it's definintly not amazing. FireFall which is now in open beta on the PC has much more solid mechanics, but also lacks content and real depth. It has much more potential right now though.

Wasdie

Firefall is good, but it's not in the same league as Defiance. Defiance is a much better game.

Not really. The mechanics of FireFall are much more sound, the game has a lot more promise than Defiance. When they open up a few of the larger worlds and start the PvE driven war with the Chosen and then the open world PvP it's going to be stellar.

Game just needs more content at this point.

I gotta agree with Wasdie on this. Firefall is indeed more hopefull than Defiance. I played both games in their beta stages, and while they both severely lacked content, Firefall at least had the sound mechanics that showed the right foundation. Firefall was a case of good core foundation, just not much built over it. Defiance, in my opinion, seems to have a pretty shaky foundation, so no matter how much they add and build over it, the core foundation is still gonna be really sketchy. Just the basic game design in defiance is bad, and thats before even talking about how unpolished the game is. Who knows, maybe when an expansion comes out, it will clean up but i highly doubt it.

I played the closed beta and i was underwhelmed. Havent check out the TV Show, but I imagine if I was a huge fan of the show, I could find the game palatable. My major concern with the game was that the mechanics feel very unpolished...almost...sort of cheap. I don't know how to explain it, but it just feels like your character and the world dont mesh. Like your character doesnt move with the right "ummph" and the guns just feel crappy. Then comes the missions...they are so monotonous and repetitive. Graphically, the game is lacking a lot of polish too. I don't wanna put off any people interested cause I just played the closed beta, but those were my thoughts.

Yeah this sucks for developers. Having to worry about the offline folks. I say make it online required. Like Titanfall.

Senor_Kami
I don't think they're worrying. People who still don't have the internet in 2013 aren't the market for either next-gen console. To be honest, they haven't been the market for modern electronics since like 2007.

I dont mind online check ins and the sort, my concern is downloading large files. I have bandwidth caps and that can easily chew down my internet :(
