Im not getting any system day one, as that usually leads to having a system that lies around in your living room with no one actually playing it due to lack of (quality) games. I'm buying a PS4 guaranteed probably 3-4 months after launch, because I'm a big fan of playstation exclusives (Sony Santa Monica, Naughty Dog!) and I'm in favor of their attitude this gen and their love for gamers. With the recent X1 changes, I may buy it at a later date, but I think I will hold off a bit. I will probably get it a year or so down the line. Due to MS's previous stance, Im not sure if this move is a show that they respect their gamers and are going down a different path, or if this is nothing more than a money grab after they realized that the X1 was getting decimated due to all the negative press.

I just want a lil time to make sure that MS is sincere about this and wont try to go back to its original plan later down the road when it has a a big enough established X1 base. Sure, it sounds like im being paranoid that they would go back to their old ways, but hey, who saw this complete reversal of their DRM policy coming? And the entire X1 was built with DRM and always online functionality at its core, so I doubt MS is willing to just part with their 5+ years of plans. I'd rather err on the side of caution so I'm gonna wait and see. And of course there is the issue of the price point. Don't care how great kinect is, don't see myself ever using it. Wish it were optional cause I sure as hell am gonna keep using my remote controller for my TV and most likely wont buy kinect games.

Those are just my thoughts on the issue, but I think MS made the right call, regardless of their motives. This DRM and always online issue could seriously have killed the Xbox brand, and that's something that none of us would want. I guess its a good thing Sony went for the jugular during E3 lol :P

Just wondering now, since the Xbone no longer needs to be online, what about all those games that were supposed to use the cloud to make them super duper awesome? What happens to them now lol? You cant make "teh cloud" a standard feature in a single player game when the console doesnt require an internet connection, cause that means different people will have variable experiences with the game. I think this just proves that "teh cloud" was utter BS. What developer (assuming the cloud features MS talked about werent BS, even though they are) would make heavy use of the cloud knowing that some people with the console wont have online access? that would make the game broken to part of the X1 population. "Teh Cloud" was only viable assuming the console had mandatory online connection.

And on another note, is MS going to ship consoles to the majority of the world they neglected when they announced an always online console? Do they even have time or are they just gonna stay with the same small areas they had already agreed to ship too, and then the majority of the world would have to wait a year like asia?

LOL. Im glad MS finally woke up and smelled the Coffee. They were going down a very dangerous path, and despite all their idiocy, they finally came back to the real world and realized that people were not happy. + 1 point to MS.
