do you know when part 4 came out ? beginning of last gen son, and the new ones got worse every time. so no it was no longer a "major exclusive". even check the sales of 5 and zero for yourself they went down also with every game drastically.
It's one of the better selling PS2 games no matter how you try to spin it. Ace Combat 4 was the best in the series and the first in the series on last generation hardware. I predict the first game in the series this generation will be just as good. It's true that they released too many sequals too fast but that doesn't take anything away from Ace Combat 4.
The system has lots of great games on it and more on the way. I'm fine with it finishing last if that's what happens. What I wouldn't be fine with is if it didn't have any good games.
Why wouldn't it sell well? It doesnt have much competition in the genre until Ninja Gaiden 2 comes out. Lost Planet and Dead Rising both sold over a million, they were bigger risks for Capcom because they were exclusive to the 360.
It's doomed if the general flow of 3rd party developer is away from PS3 and towards the other platform. No two games are going to be able to kill or save the PS3.
