The TC obviuosly is just not a huge console gamer, I realize your points and they are valid ( I cant play 90% of the racing games more than 10 minutes, I suck to much at them to be fun) however stick to PC till the end of the year and then make a choice whether PS3 will be right for you. I dont think the PS3 will pay off till 2008 so I am thinking that if your unhappy with the 360 then most likely you wont enjoy the PS3 this year. Stick to PC as in my opinion it is the most easily enjoyed system ( I love me some RTS) so go boot up that SC or something and blow some time till you can decide on whether a PS3 is a good option for you.

P.S. I enjoy my 360 very much and plan on getting wii in June (pray there will be stock), still on the fence for PS3 ($600 ouch) but might get it later, and of course loving my PC. I am pretty happy with gaming right now

Thats funny according to Bungie the only gamertag with lightman in it that has played the Halo 3 Beta is LightmanEYE, now maybe you played with that account. The only problem is your statement about how your friend is interested in Halo but prefers UT. The LightmanEYE gamertag started playing the Halo 3 Beta on May 13 meaning he got a F&F invite from bungie. However your description of him makes it questionable the LightmanEYE is actually your friend. No the times you provided is the ultimate nails in the coffin LightmanEYE did not even play any games on the 19th of May.

All that tells me that in fact you did not play the Beta.

Man its amazing how mad these guys get whenever someone says anything bad about halo... You act as if someone is insane if they dont like this game... He never said he didn't like the game he just said that it wasn't a big improvement over the second game graphically, and i agree... I've seen the game played "at a friends house"....(just kidding):)...and i wasn't too impressed... However this is only a beta...graphics wont get better but gameplay can ...Set_Free

PLaying the beta you should be able to answer all of those questions fast and easy

When a console game has framerate issues or slow down, it gets knocked, yet it's suddenly acceptable for a PC game to require a $200+ upgrade just to run comparably to two year old games? Halo CE on max settings beats Fear on minimum, same graphics card (Radeon x700) - yet the old game looks *great* (despite being a poorly optimized game) while the other "masterpiece" runs like dirt.

How can a game as cutting-edge as Oblivion run on a Radeon x700 on medium settings, yet Fear will barely run at all? How can we say games like Supreme Commander and Crysis can essentially *require* upgrading to a dual-core CPU (meaning new mobo and RAM) are "great" when they won't run acceptably on a single-core?

There's no excuse for a game on PC to run horribly, and games *should* be knocked for requiring upgrades to play. The reality is if you upgraded your PC for Doom 3, it's time to upgrade again for Crysis - not just a GPU, complete system overhaul - great.

Thats I think one of the biggest reasons that PC gaming isint as popular as console gaming, it gets very expensive to remain playing games at high settings. Those who settle for medium even needs to upgrade. Its frustrating when you  shell out $400 for a new GPU and a year down the road you cant play on MAX anymore you need to tone it down. I primarily play consoels because after the initial purchase you are guaranteed all game swill run as it is meant to be played, without having to upgrade till the new hardware comes out, youre always playing premium quality.
