I agree computer requirments shouldnt be counted as in a year or two they will be out dated and most people will be able to play the game however the score wont change. SupCom is a perfect example, right now my pc lags when playing teh game reaching a 1000 units however a year or two from now I will have a new PC which will be able to run it alot smoother as it will most likely be Quad Core. However it should be taken into consideration when writing the review to warn people about games that are unable to run on mainstream hardware, however be excluded from actual scoring.

[QUOTE="pundog"][QUOTE="BrutonNYC"]

[QUOTE="pundog"]Like I said in another thread, rechargable AA's and a USB wireless adaptor save you $60. Of couse by using your logic I would have to add about $800 because my 360 actually has games worth buying.BrutonNYC

You didnt read the last part.. Im actually being fair and not including the "luxury" items such as the HD-DVD drive, Wireless headset, games etc.. Just the neccessities that you need for gaming

And you didn't read the first part, because a smart consumer would be able to save $60 on those neccessities.

Ok so lets say your right.. I save $60.00 great, so $630 minus $60 still leaves me with a grand total of.. $570.00, so for $30.00 more, a console such as the PS3 offers free online gaming, built in blu-ray, camera card readers and a HDD twice the size again all this using your numbers of the 360 being $60.00 cheaper it would be only $30.00 more for the PS3 with all those features and then some

However in your case yes thats alot of money you forgot to add items on the PS3 side like cables (if you got a HD-DVD add on yet no HDMI cables for your PS3 you should feel ashamed) the thing is you pay $600 for the PS3 for the console no matter what the 360 is $400 and you dont need the other stuff. However in the long run teh 360 is probably more expensive due to XBL however for $5 a months I think XBL is worth every penny.

Lemmings say --- "Sony lied about Killzone on PS3...PS3 can never handle that"

Lemmings say --- "Halo 3 was completely ingame in that trailer last year and will blow Killzone outta the water graphically"

"They never said that AvidGamer!"...Yes they did...after the Halo 3 trailer last year over and over and over again. So, it is ok to think that teh mighty Master Chief will have graphics better than Killzone, but it is not ok to think for a second that Killzone quality graphics are capable on PS3? Teh hypocrisy :o

I know Halo 3 is the most anticipated videogame this year...maybe even ever. But, please don't get unrealistic about your expectations for this title.

AvIdGaMeR444

Wait, you're serious?

It's okay if Bungie displays the E3 2006 trailer, call it in-engine and claim that the game will end up looking like that, IF they actually pull it off in time for release. We're not sure if they'll pull it off yet, we've seen nothing yet from the Single Player-portion, and add to that the fact that they have development time till November to deliver. If they don't deliver, I'll gladly join you and start the bashing.

Killzone, however, is a entirely different story. They display something that is CLEARLY CGI footage, call it real-time (although it very much isn't) then hide the game in the dark for almost one year...****c. Even if they do deliver up to the quality of their CGI vid (which I very much doubt they will), that doesn't erase the fact that they flat-out lied.

Bungie didn't lie about their footage, it looked good enough to be CGI, but it wasn't as they clearly demonstrated to the press behind closed doors. This is comparable to EPIC showing of Unreal Tournament 3 to the public in E3 2005, rotating the camera etc., showing that everything was indeed real-time.

What Bungie has left to do is keep their word and deliver something that lives up to E3 2006 within the next 7 months. Sony already broke their word by lying.

Bungie did however fail in my eyes when they showed off their BS Halo 2 footage in E3 2003. When Halo 2 was finally released, it looked nothing like they had displayed. They better pretty damn well deliver this time around.

How do we know that the E306 Halo 3 trailer wasn't CGI footage as well? Yes, they said it was in-engine. But so did the Killzone devs. Is it at all possible that the Halo 3 devs were lying just like the Killzone devs were, and that the Halo 3 E306 footage was actually CGI after all? Why is it that NOT ONE PERSON believes it was CGI footage...Oh, because Bungie said it wasn't? So, Bungie never lies now...?

Did you even research or even think before posting. Unlike the devs for killzone which after their E3 performance didnt even show footage ever again except the tech demo they did. Bungie showed the press that the game was in engine right after their presentation. They were running around with the MC and playing with the camera, someone linked to this earlier in the thread. Please next time look up your opinion before suddenly calling Bungie a liar because the entire Killzone video was a hoax and te susposedly inferior 360 showing off amazing in-engine gameplay.

Based on the responses I've heard in my thread so far,

it appears Sony fanboys display the same level of denial and arrogance as the company they support.... Sony will lie, and deny their way through this generation for as long as they possibly can, but eventually, they will inevitably be brought to their knees by their competitors and shamefully forced to acknowledge the errors of their ways if they want to reconnect with the fanbase that turned their backs on them going into the proceeding generation of gaming.

D_Znuhtz

More crap about Sony rather than PS3. Don't get me started on Microsoft, they are literally the worst company in the world in terms of business ethics and practices, as well as arrogance and treating their usebase like complete ****. You seem to forget that Xbox isn't all they're involved in. Their OS monopoly and the lengths they've gone to maintain it by any means necessary is nothing short of unbelievable. If you're going to attack the PS3, go for it. If you're going to try and pin it on Sony and say Xbox is a company that actually cares about you, I'm going to laugh and disregard your entire post. A simple search of the internet can find all sorts of Microsoft shenanigans that would turn your stomach.

Your response is pointless no one is comparing SONY to MICROSOFT, it is SONY PLAYSTATION to MiCROSOFT XBOX. Bringing business practices from the OS section of the company is just a weak attempt to bash MS. Yes MS has very bad business practices however his comment about Sony ignoring their userbase and instead forcing their userbase into paying for useless parts to further Sonys own agenda is the problem. As of  May 12, 2007 MS has not used their Xbox franchise to my knowledge to further agendas of other sections in the company not related to gaming, this is to my knowledge if you can provide link to prove me wrong please do. Business is business but defending Sony for their bad business practicess toward consumers and bashing the competitions other sectors is pointless. Please try to keep things gaming related what companies do in other parts of the company is irrelevant if it does not effect the gaming sector other by providing funds.

I dont think anyone who is claiming yeah home is so cool, look I can do that understand exactly how in the end thats the problem. Sure it will be cool to go to your friends virtual condo for the first time but after a while you will get bored and just want to jump in a game with your friends as quickly as you can. I see home as a cool thing to check out but to much of a hassle to be practical. Let me put it this way, why would you want to waste your time looking at soem huys place, essentially their gamertag if all you really want to do is play a game.

Sony is trying to reinvent the wheel before even building a wheel. I say Sony needs to establish first a solid basic system having everything flowing as smoothley as XBL before trying stunts like this. I have to give Sony congrats on one thing though it seems like they are trying to build their own way of doing online and not 100% copying MS. However I feel that if they really wanted to do things their way Home should have been available at launch. I just hope that Home somehow doesnt becomes intwined in games so I am forced to use it, as I think I will stick to menus when I eventually get my own PS3, I think they serve their only purpose of getting you in a game very well.

The problem for nintendo is that they are selling wiis but alot of people buy the wii to get wii sports which keeps them happy. They dont constantly buy games. Innovation is a good idea but the wii only excels in certain areas in others in lacks. I liked the classic controllers because they are on average good for almost all games. Besides you act like motion sensing has been around for years in games, Nintendo is just the first to make it a standard. I wonder how long the wii sales will last, but it wont keep selling at this pace its entire life time thats for sure

Well I guess if you have been living in the stone age thats cool, I have been plugging in my Digital camera directly into my TV for years. Now I just stream my Stuff its alot better than SD cards etc. I hate walking to a console to plug stuff in, games are the exception since you put one in ands you play for hours. I have like 30-40 folders of random pictures that I put on, when I have friends over. The reason I like streaming is the feature o you can use the remote and be able to access any picture you have on you PC which in my case thats about 35 000 to 40 000 last I checked so SD cards wont work for me, I used my ipod for a while but it was way to small for my music and pictures.......I really need a TB HDD it would make life so much easier, maybe then I could start up movie collecting again as the 200G to 300G of movies on my HDD take up most of my 500G HDD...actually I need 2TB or rehabilitation for space dumping stuff on my PC.

Possible but dont bet on it, however theoretically if SE was to become available MS would probably but them. I think MS tight now are busy trying to get Take Two, imagine GTA IV cancelled for 360, that would destroy the PS3 for 2007, and sell MS millions of 360s. We will just have to wait and see who MS will buy next, it could even be EA, but thats very very unlikely.

[QUOTE="Jandurin"][QUOTE="fuzzysquash"]

[QUOTE="nintendofreak_2"]When you consider there are 12 games in the main series with at least 10 spin offs, that isn't surprising at all.
MFFS_Fisher

Considering some of those titles sold 10 million copies, not to mention the series have lived so long, that is impressive.

Considering nothing. Most of these games sold for 20 dollars and up. Times 75 million. There needs be no consideration involved.

I certianly don't want to diminish Final Fantasy or its highly impressive sales.

But I do want to point out that the Mario franchise has sold 193 million units in its time.

http://gonintendo.com/?p=9575

This isn't a fanboy thing. It's really just to point out that those ol' mainstay games, yer Final Fantasy and Mario and (probably) Sonic, are definitely major players. That's all.

Considering there are hundreds of mario games (no kidding, its actually true) 193 million is not really that high, most games on that list are old and have many sequels etc. I am not saying mario is bad but its not completely amazing considering the average is about 1 million a game, not bad but most of its due to Mario being in almost everything from basketball, to tennis its crazy.

I can see Halo 3 scoring high AA,but MGS4 will be the game that defines tactical espionage games for decades to come,Kojima is taking gameplay to a whole new level. My Halo 3 prediction score is 8.9,MGS4 9.6.Dualshockin

I can see you suddenly dropping that score if MGS4 wasnt playstation exclusive, but seriuosly 8.9 for Halo 3, thats laughable, you can say what you want about the Halo franchise, MS etc. but Bungie is an amazing developers, I dont see Halo 3 getting anything lower than 9.2.
