@Itzsfo0: also its fairly easy to get a Cradle for support power for the system...11 hours with gamepad and I dont see a single hiccup, overheating issue or power issue...ironically the system thats supposebly the weakest and causes the gpu to shortcircuit - is the one I use the most, and have the LEAST (if any) issues out of ..2 years and running and over 16 titles played...100s of hours and ...my black 32gb wii u still runs fine (from the last story to bayonetta 2, to dk: country freeze, to new super mario bros u, to 3d world, to splatoon, to even titles I wasnt a huge fan of like Pikmin 3 or the wonderful 101, though still enjoyed for the combat/play style) and theres a few other titles as well...and of course the new Xenoblade Chronicles X and over 350 hours of content, then next year with Zelda U and starfox - if I can get 20 good games out of the system (and the fact I paid merely $200 for a used wii u nearly 2 years ago in 2013) that says something...quite alot if you ask me sales aside, and quarterly revenue %'s aside...its served me just well and im far from a fanboy (infact the only thing I hate more then fanboy[ism] is subjective opinions being overriden as fact (like here me me I mean more) lol - I have a PS3/PS4, wii U, classic Wii console - a fairly new all-in-one PC, a few handhelds (including new 3DS XL, PS vita, PSP 2001) and previous consoles like X360, GC, even older systems like Dreamcast and PS2 going back to SNES and the early 90s - I have been a gamer for 25 years and I have seen a wide variety of consoles from basically the third generation to present day...each with flaws some more then others its true the wii u will never match the success of previous entries in the diff console generations...but meh idk I've had quite a time out of it...a bad report card or not...it ends the year imo with a good bang, a good sendoff for atleast 1 more good year for the console (and 2-3 big titles I'm looking forward to) infact as I speak (after fallout 4 this year, and witcher 3, bloodborne, rise of the tomb raider, mgs V) with the other big consoles on the market what else do I have to look foward to next year ? The Last Guardian maybe ? please - infact the only thing I see ON the horizon currently is what nintendo is offering in 2016. But again I guess thats just taste.
@Random_Matt: I know i own one and I get plenty of enjoyment out of it - infact ironically (the fact that i own ALL the consoles/handhelds and a PC) i get more out of my wii u the past year then anything and IF the wii u can produce Xenoblade Chronicles X (which is far better today as I speak then both fallout 4, and/or MGS V: phantom menace) then that says something - I've played numerous great titles like bayonetta 2, the last story, and the handful of franchise classics reinvented on the wii u - granted thats an argument of taste/subjectiveness but say as you want to each their own, I own one and your opinion is nothing more then an opinion plus saying its a weak POS just makes you sound like a 12 year old whos angry.
@kereke12: he may be but I am not...I DO PREFER sony playstation consoles (but that doesnt make me a fan, infact fanboyism is annoying) I buy ALL the consoles...and own a decent fairly new PC - and at spurts handhelds as well...so for me its just "buy all of them, or the majority of them each new gen, and enjoy whatever titles I want on whatever platform I want to play that title...or enjoy the exclusives that I want for the _____ console specified) but thats just me...have fun fanboys argue it up and debate 900p vs 1080p - framerate comparisons, loading times, content superiority etc, etc - but thats just me...its easier to just own them all..
GASP OMG WHAT WILL THE PC ENTHUSIASTS DO the ones that have the ego-the PC is superior, my god a game that is just newly released could it be ? bugs, glitches, framerate issues ? oh my god even with $3746 spent on a custom AWESOME totally rad gaming rig...could this be (smiles) - lol PC is about as fucked up as the consoles in many cases worse...blue-screens, updates, minimum requirements (the sole fact ALONE that I have to look at the side of a box and see if my new rig even meets minimum requirements is reason enough for me to leave the PC gaming market) - yea so superior...all that work time invested (and far more then $400-500) for what ? a few years at most ? then what updates, ontop of updates ontop of updates, compatbility issues with vid-card (even if you DO have a dedicated card) I mean...and thats just to start, ...plug n play if you ask me - and I own a nice PC, multiple consoles, and handhelds (my argument has always been theres no clear winner, just BUY THEM ALL) an idea more of you should latch onto (cause what about the great exclusives like Xenoblade Chronicles-X) and other retro indie tiles that you wont see on steam or through emulation. Personally I dont pick a specific console (I hate fanboyism as much as the next) I just buy them all/own them all, and pick whatever title I want (or am interested in) on whatever platform I want..and based on reviews I can choose which it runs on...historically yes PC (with the right tech, and nicely invested setup) can be superior graphically - but that is only half the battle...and quite often I've found (from bloodborne, to witcher 3, to all the far crys, to dishonored, bioshock, skyrim, MGS titles, you name it) can all run just fine on consoles (after some updates usually is the case) hence in case why I never buy a title the week/month its released...give it time, plenty of OTHER content out there to satiate your appetite.
@Itzsfo0: 220 hours of the original (in my eyes 7/10) this one will be over 300 and 8/10 or 9/10) overall X has already sold more copies in japan/europe then the original did (and as the produce takahashi explained he loves this game that much more then the previous title ) and btw its not "original" the two games are completely diff in many aspects, the exploration and combat is about the only thing that ties them together...soul successor if anything but they are in no ways related, this game basically improves upon several issues I had with the first, and to me exploration is paramount over story (ANYDAY of the week) if I want story I'll buy some hipster PC title like "gone home" i want big open world exploration and endless grinding (like an MMO) I'll buy this game which many people do like thats the transition for a game like this...in many ways it will be a better game - but everyone is different. I suspected this would be a bigger, better looking more enjoyable game...in a few days I'm sure I'll be rightly pleased.
@Thanatos2k: nah just bigger, better and more enjoyable - first one only thing about it is a slightly better story MUCH MUCH MUCH better exploration in this game, skells to ride, multiple larger content booths, co-op online play, obviously better graphics for the specific reasons listed above, the original is a tiny spec compared to this game
@iloveyourface: um plenty of people own consoles, i own handhelds and a PC as well - cause games like Xenoblade Chronicles X arent on PCs besides I prefer consoles plug n play - even if the frame-rate is even remotely playable I dont care if its full HD or 900p, 720p, 30fps vs 35fps - with 50million ps4's, and near that many Xones, and over 118 million wii's and 30 million wii u's ...im fairly sure theres a few 100 million console owners out there, that just want to play a game - even titles like witcher 3 what do I care if its graphically superior on the PC ? I mean really once theres DLC and some fixes - and the games runs ok - then I dont care, besides all those retro-indie titles dont require high end PCs to run lol - the pc master race thing is almost a joke its funny...um actually you are all retards why ? I own them ALL (all the consoles, all the handhelds, previous gens and current gen) and a fairly new PC to boot, so I can just play any title across any platform (and ironically I still find myself playing AAA titles on consoles)...Rise of the Tomb Raider (bought, played - enjoyed GASP guess what version I played Xone ? - correct, Bloodborne (gasp) again what version ? PS4, and enjoyed just fine, skyrim ? X360, all the DLC as well (just fine) - all the far cry titles (2, 3, 4) X360 ? yup - and they were just fine - Witcher 3 ? PS4 ? yep just fine, ran smooth too (very little to any hiccups) Xenoblade Chronicles (and the upcoming X on dec. 4) wii u - and it will be just fine (reviews are already in on numerous sources) - and about a dozen other wii u titles (new super mario bros u, bayonetta 2, pikmin 3, hyrule warriors, the last story, pandoras tower - wii titles albiet but played on the wii u virtual console, super mario 3d world, luigi u, super smash bros u, mario kart 8, donkey kong tropical freeze, batman: arkham knight, asylum, city - all on PS3/PS4 - guess what enjoyed just fine,
Fallout 4 (currently) enjoying on the 1TB PS4 (black ops III edition) though I'm not a huge fan of FPS and havent played a COD or BF title since 2010 - but again - enjoyed the titles just fine...infact THE ONLY titles I even TOUCH on the PC are...blizzard titles like Diablo 2, Diablo 3/Reaper of Souls, WoW (and its 4, now 5 corresponding expansions) and other random only-played-when-i-have-nothing-else-to-play titles like State of Decay on steam and POE (Path of Exile) to me PC is ...build it (**** no thanks) - bluescreens, updates, memory requirements (requirements this, requirements that) and personally despite the fact that I'm a fast typer, and fast reader - I'm still not a huge fan of mouse/keyboard combo...oh ok maybe in 1998 while in high school lol Quake III Arena goofing around in Software III class - I know computers, and I've played plenty of games on PC and personally to each their own but I dont see the big deal of graphical superiority (every single game I listed above and DOZENS of others I didnt list) were all played on consoles, and enjoyed thoroughly - returned for a $/value - and then a new title was purchased (only the incessantly needy feel the need to collect things). To me it sees MUCH easier to own all the consoles, handhelds available and a new (or fairly new) PC - and a smartphone/tablet to boot...too much one might say but, I have the option of playing any exclusive OR AAA title I want (on any platform I want) the real response should be "who in their right mind is limited to only a PC or a single console nowadays, who limits their variety/selection of content with a narrow/single-track mind of PC vs console...thats the real argument...douchebag console boys, no worse then douchebag PC superiority ass-hats, (they both are) I dont pick a single console, or a single "type" of PC ...personally I could give a good goddamn...cause I know there is quite literally DOZENS of titles I will never see on the PC as the years go on...that I want to play so ...(guess what:hint?) I can play them...and when a title comes out for the PC that I actually want to play (which is rare, but it hey it happens) I buy it, play it enjoy it, and return it...as I do with all software..I dont hate or choose any single platform (I don't even have a preference, although if you'd have asked me that 20 years ago...or 25 years ago I would of prob said nintendo simply b/c of my age and limit/exposure to games (and guess what even 25 years ago it was console...cause lets face it OUTSIDE of emulation...all the classic nes/snes/n64/genesis/saturn/dreamcast/gamecube titles were for the consoles...and even to an extent still are nowadays...big western rpgs, and all the big AAA blockbusters big budget titles are cross platform..so you can play fallout or, batman, or dishonored, bioshock (etc, etc) on PC...but why IF i dont have a current high end PC (and I sure as hell dont feel like investing time into building one) ...whereas I can run to gamestop 4.8 miles from my apartment after work, pickup whatever __________ title I want...bring it home, plug n play...if it runs smooth it runs smooth if it doesnt, well I have plenty of other titles and content I can invest time in till that title is figured (but 99% of the time I see all this ranting on gamespot about a console version of a title not running as well or looking as good on the console vs its "superior" PC version...then I go and play it...and 20, 30, 40, 50 hours later...im looking around like (birds chirping) where was all the hype about this game not running smoothly or being "playable" on the 360 or PS3/PS4/XONE ?
Cause I just finished it, got what I could out of it...and it ran fine, looked decent, I'm sure in full HD glory pumped up to 60fps with the best HDMI cable hooked up to your custom build PC (gaming) rig it would look even better but at what cost ? $600, $700, $800 (and thats being slightly reasonable) EVEN IF I had someone that knew more then me about hardware build a rig (for the lowest amount with the best mid-level to mid-high end parts) dedicated vid card, appropriate amount of ram, running at best possible option, etc, etc, etc - even then I'm going to spend FAR more (double if not triple) what I did on that console...and for what ? blue-screens, compatibility issues and (4 years down the road) PC titles being released where I cant meet the minimum requirements (the fact that i EVEN HAVE TO LOOK) at a "requirements" on a side of a PC-title's box is insulting to begin with...no thanks - I'll save the PC for web-browsing, taking stupid pictures of the family to post on facebook (oh wait I can do that with a smart-phone nowadays cant I?) and the browsing I can (gasp) do with my curved OLED tv right ? (which looks damn fine, and my input lag is .13ms on both tv's ...great contrast, large - ultra thin bezel/profile - great Audioquest HDMI cables (Vodka models 1002U7) etc, etc - I personally think w/ a good television...appropriate cables, nice soundbar (with wireless subwoofer/satellite surround sound speakers) - I mean I used to sell TVs for a living...so I def know more about television tech then I do (admittedly) about building PC's or PC tech...infact I know very little about hardware, and building a nice rig, and for the guys that wanna masturbate after spending $850 on parts, and days of labor (give or take) and then just to have to constantly update it...and worry about specific issues (that I seemingly have no need to worry about with a console) for what ? all that for a slightly better contrast ratio ? 60fps vs 30fps (besides I cant stand the way 60fps looks...soap opera effect on the several titles I've seen) I' didnt buy my OLED (or my Vizio Full Array LED-2015 M-Series) for "UHD 2160p for upscaling purposes I didnt ...I just wanted a nice quality/highly acclaimed - well-reviewed (on multiple sources) television to run games at (or with) the lowest input lag...they look just fine, hell I been gaming for 28 years...I got along 19 of those 28 years without terms like "HD vs SD" or "60fps vs 35fps" or "PC vs console" none of that mattered years ago (and to me still doesnt). I'll reserve the PC for "diablo" and shit like that...everything else..racing sims, JRPGS, APRGS, action adventure, puzzle, strategy/sim, I'll buy on the console...or handheld (cause theres TONS of great handheld titles that I will also never see on the PC) I have about 43 titles (that I never actually sold back to the store for 1 reason or another) that I can guarantee you - I cannot find on the PC...unless some goofy backdoor site with a shitty free download variant...so go have fun with the PC I'll enjoy those same games almost gauranteed on the console, equally as much - for about the same price (the title itself) on a machine thats far less pricey...plenty PLENTY of people still buy consoles (the wii itself is a case in point) infact, out of the 10-11 gamers that I know (RL/offline friends) only about 2 of them actively pursue PC releases...and usually exclusive PC games are the weird hippie/alternative indie obscure hipster titles that nobodies ever heared of "Gone Home" "Lakeside Manor" MYST-style games...Im like wtf is this ? yea right I wouldnt shell out $15 for that...meanwhile I will however play Axiom Verge, and Dark Star Destroyer, and Run-Gamblit (all titles I cant GASP AGAIN seem to find on the PC no matter where and how I look...deep-web my ass nothing deep about it).
@jecomans: yea see i could careless about a weak story Im not really playing the game for a story it reads like a 8 or 9 to me (especially if average open world games like fallout 4 get a 9) - and no many of "the other" reviews (of which there is only 3 gamerankings, nintendolife, famitsu) NONE of them say that whatsoever I've already read the other reviews - this is actually the only review that says besides the character models and inconsistent explanation of the games world - thats the only reoccuring thing I've heard - I'll play it love it, exploration/combat and in depth systems and large overworld with multiple progression systems > ANY day over story (hell even xenoblade chronicles original i didnt care much for the story yet I invested 228 hours into the game) yea story doesnt mean shit to me - unless I go into the game wanting a grand story - on an epic scale, everything about this game is epic - minus what the story (soundtrack is subjective, merely opinion) other reviews say the opposite that gamespot has - personally I wouldnt miss such a big indepth detailed fun to explore vast world open JRPG just b/c the character models are bland and the voice acting is hit or miss and the story isnt up to par with some of the darker more realistic western rpgs - personally I never cared for that to begin with, I couldnt imagine missing a title (for what ? rise of the tomb raider, bloodborne ? witcher 3) they have major flaws as well - besides I already own a Wii U along with the other consoles no reason for me to miss it (again to each their own) but way I look out it - could careless if someone else misses out on it (over something as minor as the story being bad the STORY is only HALF the game hell a game like this its probably not even half more like 1/4=67-80 hour story, and then 160 hours of content, and multiple systems that cojoin and come together, plus riding a skell and exploring such a vast world is like half the fun to begin with, miss that for a bland (not bad) but bland story ? no thanks - oh well sucks to be the person that thinks like that.
