@johnwck90 I completely agree. If this game would have release 3 years ago for the PS3, we would have had something BIG to sell the system. We would have had something awesome to play everyday (not that there wasn't other games). Then SE could have spent all this time completing Versus XIII. Between those two games (that would have been big system sellers) things would have been a lot different for both PS3 and SE. But like you say, now XIV will be coming out WAY LATE, and to a jaded audience, in the midst of some really fantastic MMO alternatives. Shame. Cause I remember playing FFXI and loving it for years. This game "looks" fantastic, like I could really enjoy being lost in it.....just hope it turns out that way in the end, despite everything.
@Zloth2 @JJames3dCG Don't let yourself be brainwashed. This is a very common case of "spinning the facts." They put out reports that "72% of US gamers play online" leading you to believe, Oh well that's most people....guess this always-online thing won't be that bad. But the difference is, if you're "Forced" to play online, as you put it, and the connection is lost for whatever reason (your internet goes down, the game client goes down, the xbox servers go down) then you can't play your games!
You must be young and impressionable, because if your an adult and you think that an always-on forced connection or no gaming allowed, is just fine and dandy you aren't going to make it far in life, as everyone will be taking advantage of you all your life and you'll never know it.
More negative news surrounding Xbox. I couldn't be more glad to be a PlayStation gamer at the moment. (The little part of me that held out any hope that XboxNext would be something I could get excited about too, is dwindling fast!)
From the wording, sounds like the PS4 will be out BEFORE Nov 19. I know it doesn't say that, but by reading between the lines, you can safely assume it will be before that. Otherwise they would have said, "And PS4 version will be available later in the holiday season at the Launch of PS4." Here's hoping for a Sept/Oct. release date!!!
Actually, I bet that this Nov.19th date is when we'll see the NextBox720 (if it gets released this year that is)
And for all those that say they aren't interested in the next-gen consoles, you're just lying to yourself because you know you can't afford it. Any true gamer is ALWAYS excited about the next hardware release for games to be enjoyed on!
@MacroManJr @JJames3dCG That was my point. ( I was distracted with my kids, the last line shouldn't be there) I too strongly believe they should be at E3, and not going is a mistake.
I have to strongly disagree. If the format has gotten too bloated and the real message (new hardware and new games) getting lost in the shuffle, then it's the presenters: Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo that need to make the changes. We don't need or want to see the half-ass poorly rehearsed banter on stage, you're right. But then it's the big three that can/should change it, not just quit the show. Cause you're saying the Nintendo Directs will be better, as they will cut through the crap, and focus on the goods (the games). Well why can't the do that at E3 too. I'd be ecstatic if any of the big three, simply came out with a presenter, one after another, with game after game, and simply explained/showed us. Which is exactly what Nintendo Directs are. If they can do it off E3's stage, they can do it on. Doesn't matter where it happens.
Wind Waker HD doesn't count in my book, as it's a port, and of an SD game. And as far as Zelda (I assume you mean the one like the tech demo) coming out late 2014, that's a placeholder/lie. I 100% promise you it will be pushed back, til God knows when. When was it that we were told the original release date was for Skyward sword? Did it arrive then? No. What about something far less detailed and complex, such as Pikman3...pushed back twice already. Listen, we can always hope....and wait....but that's what happens with Nintendo on a regular basis, and that's the point I was making.
I said this back when the WiiU was first being talked about as Nintendo's entrance to the HD gaming world. I said then, just look how long it takes Nintendo to release an SD game of quality caliber....Now imagine how much longer their development cycle will be for games in HD. All those extra fine details take time to create. And with Nintenod being so slow at creating SD almost "blocky" games....theirs no way they will be able to compete in an HD market with how long it takes them to release a game. And when they finally do...it's just ONE GAME. They still have to keep going and make more. Skyword sword on the Wii took what, 6 years!! Now imagine how long we will have to wait for a true HD Zelda, what 9+ years?? Just too long to be competitive. And that's exactly where they find themselves now. Sad.
