@Saketume @JRD1912 Naw PCs have always run games better. They dont get the market share like consoles because they a expensive, buggy, and many people dont know how to use a PC very well if there are problems.
Consoles are PCs, they always have been. Controller is the mouse and keyboard. Consoles just dont have a PC OS.
Consoles NEED to have mainstream PC parts. Its a good thing. This is by far the best console Sony has made far as the hardware they are putting in. There has never been a need for an exclusive game unless something plain can not run it because its not powerful enough.
Exclusives are there just to sell the console. They shouldnt be there just because Sony put some weird ass hardware in that no one else in their right mind wants to use.
@Saketume @JRD1912 Thats what held them back. They offered nothing, hampered development, and increased costs. They were huge failures.
Thats all consoles are. They are mediocre PCs. Programming is too entrenched with PC hardware to go out of the box and start trying to do things your way for the just for the sake of doing so.
@Saketume What I hear is "Wow! Those morons at Sony didnt stick in some PoS hardware like the Cell. or worthless vector units with a 4 meg GPU. I guess their hardware wont completely suck to develop for for once."
Ppl are such god damn whiners about D3. Its a good game. I didnt need to buy half my gear. I got more hours out of it then I did D2. You hit end game and ppl cry omg? Whats this? My gear is in the 96% range and im not getting any more upgrades?! You mean Im now forced to most likely use the AH to get that extra 1% upgrade?! F U Blizzard!
@CP2077 But thats the issue. The GPU doesnt really have memory. Its a shared pool. It basically saying the GPU is using the core memory pool your PC has. Mine has 6 gigs. Its not really the same as saying you bought a standard PC GPU that came with 8 gigs on the card built in.
Regardless PC can use excess memory or virtual memory to boost the available memory pool for the GPU. Memory is largely just a buffer. It doesnt mean much of anything. The goal is to have enough for the system to not bog down. Thats really it.
