[QUOTE="JabbaDaHutt30"]Only if I get to cheat on my girlfriend when she gets old, ugly and fat, like most women.yellerbelly

Does she get to cheat on you when you get old, fat, hairy and impotent?

I say yay to marriage. In fact I did 2 and a half years ago.

That will never happen. Men usually remain fitter than women.

[QUOTE="muthsera666"] I completely disagree. I fall into the agnostic category, though I'm more of a skeptic. I don't believe in God, nor do I not believe in God. I believe in the possibility. But, with my current knowledge base, I cannot know for sure either way. Ergo, agnosticism. muthsera666

Not knowing if God exists is a state of knowledge, not belief. If you're not a theist, then the other single possibility is not to be a theist, therefore having a lack of religion, ergo, atheism - the absence of theism. "I don't believe in God, nor do I not believe in God." You mean "disbelieve in God's existence", I'm sure. Atheists don't have to disbelieve in God's existence, since atheism is merely the lack of religion, hence the 'A'. If you are not in any manner religious, then you are by default an atheist.

If you are undecided about whether something is true or not, then that obviously means you don't believe it's TRUE (yet).

No. My indecision about whether something is true does not mean that I do not believe it is true. I simply do not know if it is true. I believe that there is the possibility of it being true, but I don't know.

Naive. Many religious folk and atheists alike are in doubt, but generally maintain their belief. If a Christian would be religious and wouldn't believe in God, then he'd KNOW God would exist (through miracles of some sort) Even if you say that God is a possibility and don't believe in him, you still qualify as an atheist because you lack a religion. A religious belief concerns itself with what you believe (doh!), therefore any exploration of the possibilities you may acknowledge do not change what you believe in. Agnosticism is a lack of knowledge; atheism is a lack of belief. Many religious people could be considered "agnostic' by that logic, bcause they BELIEVE in God, and don't KNOW God exists. The same could apply to atheists. But in the end, atheists remain atheists and theists remain theists, regardless of their open-mindedness or lack thereof. It's simple: if you're not actively religious, you are without religion.

I think I'm gonna start an argument right here.

Religious people of Gamespot - hear me out! If you claim a God exists, and he is good, then why is there suffering in the world? Why do the children and the innocent die? Why must evil be a part of free will? Does not God himself create reality? Can he not do the logical impossible EVEN if you believe that EVIL is a part of free will now? Why must the absolute entity spread us as its inferiority, only for us to be reunited in Heaven? That which is perfect need not be reconstructed. Therefore, if there is a God, I am lead to believe that He is IMPERFECT!

Why cant you start your own thread?

There are already enough religion threads out there...

Um, the Elysian fields are part of the ancient greek mythology... :?

[QUOTE="JabbaDaHutt30"][QUOTE="jasperrussell"] The one true god - wikipedia - thinks differently: "It is often put forth as a middle ground between theism and atheism."muthsera666
It is put forth - but it is done so incorrectly. You can either believe or not believe in something. Agnosticism is a state of knowledge; there is no middle ground between believing or not believing.

And even if it's not true, it's a possibility and people would be fools not to at least try it out (Pascal's Wager).
