[QUOTE="goblaa"]I guess when I say hardcore I mean Teen and Mature games.[QUOTE="4_Horsemen"][QUOTE="briguyb13"]It all depends on what your definition of "hardcore" is. Some say that games like GTA or Madden are casual. Others may say fps's are casual for their lack of originality, or say old school is the real hardcore.4_Horsemen
Oh really? I wans't aware a games recommended age rating determined if it was good or not. I guess every dev should just make M rated games, that way they will be "hardcore".
Pleasename a good casual title that is not  wario wareGood titles with casual appeal, that can also be played by younger audiences? What, like Katamari Damacy, Madden, Mario, Kirby, and SSMB? If you want some casual titles that're 'Teen' or 'Mature', ever heard of a few little-known series like Grand Theft Auto, Need for Speed, Burnout, Half-Life, or Halo? Incidentally, do you really think that all the millions of people who buy your favourite games are these self-proclaimed 'hardcore' gamers?
On a side note, Super Mario Bros. was a revolution when it released, as was its first 3D iteration. People saw that success and a mass of platformers were made, some good, countless horrible or mediocre. Did the NES era and N64/PS1 era only have platformers? Grand Theft Auto 3 took the industry by storm, and lots of upcoming games tacked on 'edgy' or 'controversial' content, and sandbox gameplay up the wazoo. Were GTA clones the only good games last generation? What makes you think that this current trend will be any different? If anything this trend is better than the previous ones, I'd rather the possibility of roping my non-gamer friends into a quick game session than Bubsy the Bobcat or 50 Cent: Bulletproof.
[QUOTE="Jagazaar"]Then we have the Jaguar and CD-i, which are the hangovers and vomiting.
BTW, who's the designated driver?
Callofdutynoob
Nintendo left so Sony and Microsoft are having a contest who can drink the most beer and whoever wins gets to drive! :D

Then we have the Jaguar and CD-i, which are the hangovers and vomiting.

Bioshock > Halo 3
Gears Of WAr > Bioshock
Mass Effect > Gears of War
Meh MGS4 > all of those.
See I can do it too........
Meh Splinter Cell Convictions > Mgs4
Tuna & cheese toasted multigrain sandwich > Splinter Cell Convictions
Suspenseful:- Alien vs. Predator 2 (unless you're playing as the Alien. *presses E* RRRRRAAAARRRGGHHH!!! *splat* *gleeful giggle*)
Tense:- Resident Evil 4 (I know it's not THAT scary, but when you get an unexpected axe/flail/taser from behind it can make one jump. And the Regenerators' hiss is freaky)
Disturbing: Max Payne, or rather one specific sequence in it. The second 'nightmare', in which you walk along blood pathways in pitch blackness, listening to your wife sobbing and your baby making strangled wails. One of the only times a game's genuinely given me the shivers.
Just downright twisted:- killer7 (Curtis Blackburn. Enough said)
.......How the freaking hell does one compare a racing game with an on-rails shooter? Are we going to start comparing Mario Kart to Star Fox next?
"MK is a weaker game than SF because the enemies don't explode, meaning that shooting them is worthless. Also the lack of barrel rolls in former game is a severe oversight."
