[QUOTE="RurouniSaiyajin"]Sonic? In RPG form?...why?hotdaisy18

It worked superb with Mario. WHy can't it work with Sonic?

Because Mario was done with a fine compay in its time (Squresoft). That's why it worked so well with Mario? Sonic? I don't see this being any sort of given light to the series. Sonic is still dead and keeps getting deeper in his grave.

And Bioware ISN'T a fine RPG-making company?

Gunstar Heroes for me. Normally I won't replay an action game for months or years, but the short, visceral and enjoyable gameplay has brought me back for well over 100 playthroughs. No joke.

Rez is looking to fill a similar role, so that one's up there. Resident Evil 4 is also a hell of a lot of fun.

The Tales series is pretty awesome, true, but personally I prefer the Shin Megami Tensei series. Both beat the heck out of most FF games IMO, at least in terms of gameplay elements.

I personally, hate JRPG's. OMG I hit you with mah oversized sword, your turn.

You've never played a Tales game, have you? It's all in real-time.

Wow......normally I'm pretty apathetic about FPSs (mostly they all seem the same to me, with some exceptions), but if this game lives up to its hype, I'd be more than willing to make an exception. I also love taking an immature attitude towards my games, so the ability to beat people with stuff like chickens is something I'd likely get a real kick out of, especially if you can do it in multiplayer. I can just see a bunch of themed mods being made for the game with such mentalities in mind......:D

Badasses are over-rated IMO. If I have to pick one though, I'm going to go with the Demi-Fiend, the main character from Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. Sure he might be a weedy teenager and a silent protagonist, but let me elaborate. The entire world, everything he knew, was completely obliterated in an instant. He was involuntarily forced into becoming something inhuman, and thrust into a brutally unforgiving dog-eat-dog world completely on his own. He just goes about the business of kicking the crud out of an entire world full of savage demons, with no complaints, angst or whatever. No cheesy over-blown one-liners or over-stated actions, just plain and simple methodical slaughter. All without batting an eye.

I personally find apathetic, cold and calculating mass genocide much more 'badass' than a lot of yelling and chest-thumping.

The announcement turned you into a rapping, dancing Spartan gangster schoolgirl meercat? Wow, that's an.....interesting combo, to say the least. :?

My lame humour aside, hell yeah. This is gonna rule. If the PS3 can support 40-person games in Resistance with practically no lag, a comparatively simple game of Tekken would run like a dream, most likely.

Neal_Gore

Yeah, the development team behind killer7 has no idea how to make interesting and original games. True story. :|

He can also die instantly from a head-shot, an explosion, a sword hit, and being smacked by an Elite, Brute, or Hunter. And probably some other things I forgot.

Your point?

Wise words indeed, kudos to you.

Personally, I always attributed the competitive nature of humanity to our origins as a tribal species, waaaaay back in the evolutionary ladder. One gains instinctive satisfaction from achieving a higher 'rank' in the 'hierarchy', even if that increased superiority is only superficial and/or psychological. Putting down another person makes one feel more secure in their position in the hierarchy and hence gives satisfaction. 'Hierarchies' exist everywhere and in all contexts, it's just a matter of where you subconsciously draw parallels. Think of kids in a schoolyard, as an example of this. On a different note, we also feel secure in being part of a tribe, be it sharing similar interests, supporting the same sports team, having the same console, etc.

This is just my opinion and I'm probably being unfocused and overly brief due to excessive tiredness, but just thought I'd add that. Yay and soforth. I'ma go take a long nap now.
