Dunno about SW, but I would've thought Daikatana was a pretty epic disappointment.

So much for revoutionizing the genre. :|

Your opinion. It is my opinion, however, that people can keep their derivative, simplistic gameplay disguised by excellent graphics, an ok story and an excessive amount of gore. I also fail to see how an enemy I can easily defeat the very first time I fight it by dodging/blocking its 3 or so repetitive moves and hitting it with the same simple combos and a few quick-time button presses constitues an awesome boss fight. I will sort of give Ares though, he was a slightly above-average boss.

I was thinking of several much nastier comments to make, but I managed to curb my instincts. People who consider GoW in the same league as DMC1/3 and NG, let alone those who consider it "the best game on the PS2/ever" are one of my major pet hates. Blargh.

Personally I think the multiplayer in UT3 will be far more in-depth and enjoyable, but as for single-player, Halo 3 will most likely be better. After GeoW though, who knows, the UT3 single-player might be downright awesome.

Personally, I see DMC1/3 and NG as quite superior to GoW. More in-depth and skill-based combat system that rewards timing and originality in fighting style (particularly in the former where your rank actually decreases if you use the same moves repetitively), better boss fights, more challenge, and just overall more engaging, IMO. And I must disagree about GoW's boss fights, the 3 of them that the game had (I don't count the Medusa) I found to be overly simplistic and even to an extent lame. I just kinda went 'Oh, ok.', and carried on slaughtering countless regular goons. Whereas DMC3 and NG had me feeling awesome when I managed to beat their respective offerings (I'm ashamed to admit I actually made a victory dance for beat Vergil on DMD mode  ).

GoW's graphics and presentation are downright awesome, but I find that I don't care about graphics almost at all, which I guess might be why I didn't enjoy it much.

......Have you even PLAYED a MGS game before? If you treat it like a shooter, you tend to find yourself hearing "Snake? SNAAAAAAAAKE!!!!" a freaking lot of times. With a horrible rank to boot.

'Sides which, I'm pretty sure most people are more hyped for FF13 than Killzone 2.

Fair point about Resistance though, I guess.

Both. I'll have Crysis for my traditional (yet more refined) FPS needs, and Bioshock for my FP-Action-RPG-Shooter needs. Though both seem like they'll be awesome, I haven't played Farcry, though I have played System Shock 2, and loved it. So I guess I'm going with Bioshock by default.

The Mega Drive was faster than the SNES, have you played a SHMUP on the SNES? you'd fall sleep of your chair.

Panzer_Zwei

I dunno, I thought Gradius 3 (and its whacked-out cousins, the Parodius series) was pretty cool.

Didn't happen with killer7, and that one was sure as hell disturbing. Makes me wonder if NMH is going to contain any similarly whacked out scenes and/or characters like Curtis Blackburn, or the politicians that keep talking after their skulls get blown open by gunshots....

Looks like garbage. Generic God of War rip-off incoming!

regardless, it's being developed by D3 Publisher, best known for the budget "The Simple" games on PS2. I'll bet when they release this in Japan, it's actually "The Simple Wii Vol. 1: Dragon Blade", and at a budget price no less.

bryehngeocef

And God of War wasn't a rip-off of DMC1/3 and Ninja Gaiden?

On a side note, if this is the same publisher I'm thinking of, I bought 2 of those budget games on the off-chance. Holy hell was that a mistake. This looks pretty decent though.
