Not so easy
MGS4 especially would look pretty ugly with it just getting an uprezed to a higher resolution. Someone would need to go in and clean up all of those blurry textures.

I do not understand how people enjoy the new Lara Croft.
She is so fucking boring and and unlikable. She's easily one of the worst written characters I've ever seen in a video game.
Splinter Cell Double Agent
It's already a terrible game on consoles, the awful PC port makes it one of the worst games of all time.
@JangoWuzHere: "I will never understand the disappointment for MGSV. Even with its flaws, it is easily one of, if not the best game this generation."
Agreed but I'd argue it's a PS3 game.
Sure, it's on last generation consoles, but that really doesn't matter. The game design and gameflow is modern and far more interesting then most other games this gen.
I don't consider their "quirky" aspects to be a positive. That stuff is so inconsistent from game to game. MGS: Revengeance and Wonderful 101 are awesome in that regard, but Bayonetta and Vanquish are complete shit.
Although, I guess their pretty inconsistent when it comes to gameplay if you look at some of their recent entries.
When Hideki Kamiya is directing and they are in their A game, very few devs are as good as they are. They have been divisive lately though as none of the 4 games after Bayonetta 2 have been good video games.
You don't like Transformers?
Eh I'd argue Bayonetta's quirks are fantastic, it's more so they actually take time to give that series exposition, and it's like fucking why? Just let her be female dante, let her talk shit with enemies and do her thing. Plus the ending of that game is hype as ****. The WOnderful 101 I would actually is actually pretty clever, for the type of story it is telling, it's actually sharply written and does a good job with its characters. Vanquish is a total misfire, don't know what the **** happened there. They had president hilary Clinton and fucking putin in a mech suit in 2010, and they came up with that plot? Hte main guys name is Sam Gideon, who smokes a cig in combat, it should have been all kinds of capcom camp. It's like I want them to give me Dead Rising 1, and they keep trying to give me Dead Rising 2.
And I do like Transformers, I'd say it's closer to okay, than good though. The thing it benefits from is that Platinum's side stuff isn't in the way, and it's more pure combat right. I think both of us would agree Bayonetta could drop the motorcycle and missle segment and it would be a better game for it. But it still is very much budget platinum, with budget, less interesting versions of the parry system and witch time. The environmental variety isn't there the way it is in Bayonetta 2, the enemy roster isn't nearly as fleshed out, and the loot system inherently takes away from some of the teeth of thta game. I whipped Megatron's ass with my fire hammer shit, which isn't something I could say for when I fought Jeanne or Jubieleus or Senator Armstrong or what have you.
I'd say it's enjoyable, but "good", I mean that genre's had stuff I like a lot more, generally more creative stuff, and that studio has done better than that game. It's much fucking better than Korra, I'll give it that, and I think Saito is in serious need of an actual shot with one of Platinum's bigger budget projects. Because so far he had to fix Metal Gear Rising inside of a year, and we got Revengeance out of it (which I like, a lot, albeit it be 4th on my Platinum Rankings) and he's the only one that's made good on the Activision projects. I want to know what he would do with proper time and a budget, and I don't think he's working on Nier either.
Bayonetta, Rodin, and the music are fucking bad ass. Everyone and everything else is so lame in comparison. Who fucking gives a shit about Luka or this stupid angel and demon shit? I don't care at all for any of the enemy designs or the actual levels themselves. They have their heart in the right place like 20% of the time in Bayonetta. Most of the time, it is literal anime boring bullshit.
Yeah, if you compare Transformers to some of other great stuff they've made, then it definitely doesn't hold up. I just wouldn't wrap in with the bad stuff they've recently made. It's still an awesome game that is worth experiencing. In that sense, I consider it a good game. I can't say the same for crap like Korra and TMNT.

I understand the disappointment surrounding Fallout 4. Bethesda has made major steps forward with every open world game they have made. With FO4, they sort of stopped doing that.
I will never understand the disappointment for MGSV. Even with its flaws, it is easily one of, if not the best game this generation.
Oh boy, I take a peak inside OT and see this thread.
I quickly remind myself why I never visit this cesspool.
@JangoWuzHere: balls platforming is Quantum Break. For a TPS, and even aside from that qualification, the platforming is pretty solid. More importantly it's integrated into the combat encounters, which you said were "terrible."
If you think the pacing is off, that's fine, but don't blatantly ignore the middle of the game after Madagascar when the game becomes very combat heavy. The story is a bit long in the tooth, yes, but it's definitely more than standard adventure fair. Whereas the past three (four) games were all fairly standard tropes and nothing more, there's actual narrative and character depth here. Characters like Rafe and the old lady aren't just random characters, they're legitimate foils.
Obviously we'll just agree to disagree though. The game is still pretty divisive on plenty of its aspects. The only crazy thing we can say here is that Uncharted 4 has bad combat, story, and pacing while BioShock Infinite doesn- hey wait a fucking minute
The game never ever becomes combat heavy. I've never heard anyone say that about UC4. Even in the latter half, the game still takes very long breaks from the action. I never felt like the adventure "started," the game rarely keeps a consistent rhythm of excitement. Also, the platforming by itself is not engaging at all. It's literally the same mash X to climb walls like before. Old Uncharted games at least kept those sections brief, while Uncharted 4 revels in them constantly. There's a very distinct difference between the regular platforming sections and platforming during combat. I don't consider that stuff the same.
Uncharted 4 is just the same tropey adventure stuff we have been fed before. The story is aspect is more involved, but that's only because UC4 spends so fucking long on it. It's a fun 8 hour adventure like the last games that is stretched into a 15 hour experience. The story itself isn't that interesting or even that deep. Combined with poor pacing, I had a hard time caring about any of the stuff happening. Shit's boring man.
Bioshock Infinite is a cool game man, don't hate. Definitely a better game then Uncharted 4.
@JangoWuzHere: lol it doesn't even sound like you played the game. The chapters particularly in the midgame are full of multi-layered encounters that are elevated by the mechanics at hand. I get them feeling sparse, and I'm on the other side of that, though I understand that as a complaint. But saying they're not good encounters I don't get.
I was also a big fan of the narrative and the platforming was serviceable enough for me. No complaints there.
I never said that they weren't interesting. They just barely leave any kind of impression. You barely get to interact with them, and when they're over, you are treated to an hour or so of platforming and narrative. Both being far less interesting then the combat. The game is just badly paced all around.
Narrative is standard tropey adventure stuff. The game did not need to be 15 hours long to tell that story. The platforming is balls. Serviceable my ass.
