True, but IF Sony has half a brain they will either discount or include the vita version of the game when you buy a PS3 game that is cross play compatible. I think they already did this for their new MLB game and I have done this with the new Motorstorm RC game where I can play on the Vita, then log onto my PS3 and see all of my lap times and car/track downloads update and change what content is on the PS3 game because of my actions on the Vita.No that's just a plus on Sony's Part. Though in order for you to actually take a PS3 game on the go, you have to have a Vita version of the game.

I've already got 8 games for mine and once MGS: HD collection comes out I won't need anymore for my Vita ;) Seriously though, my vita made a 6 hour car trip feel like 2 thanks to some intense rounds of Hot Shots Golf.Well, like the wiiu gamepad, the vita doesn't have any games to play on the go. :P

Both = Wii Ukhoofia_pikaAlthough I think the WiiU is definitely similar, I've never been a fan of the type of games found on the Nintendo. I'd play Gears, GT5, Heavy Rain, God of War, Halo, MGS4, and many others before I'd touch Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and whatever else is on the Wii. Is that because nintendo is what I grew up with and playing it makes me feel like I'm back in elementary school? Maybe. But, I am also a racing gamer and there's nothing on the Wii that will compete with iracing, GT5, or Forza.

Exactly
Xbox 360 + Kinect + Smartglass = WiiU
PS3 + Move + Vita = WiiU
WiiU = Wii + HD + Online + Tablet
But the Vita is a portable gaming device whereas the WiiU's controller is not, am I wrong? So I saw this....

....and wondered why we haven't heard more about this technology? Did Sony not think this would be a great Vita feature for all games? I know it got a brief mention at E3 but come on this is great news for people like me that own a PS3 and a vita. It shows how valuable the device is to PS3 gamers in my opinion.
Essentially what Media Molecule has done is turned the Playstation Vita into a PS3 controller AND a device that complements the PS3 gaming experience at the same time. For example, as a game controller the Vita not only acts like a regular dual shock controller but it also allows the user to use the Vita's touch screen to add even more functionality to the game. As for complimenting the gaming experience, MM was able to make the vita a second screen much like the 3DS has two screens. They showed us how the Vita can be used as a radar detector to tell us where the nearest prizes are in proximity to our location. They also used it as a x-ray like machine that showed us what the hidden color sequence was to unlock a door. Imagine what this could mean for other games. I could use my vita in a game like Gran Turismo and in addition to the on screen data I could have more detailed lap data or a rear view mirror on my vita's screen. In first person shooters the vita screen could be a radar or a screen showing a live leaderboard. Or how about on Metal Gear Solid where I could use the vita's screen to select items from my inventory instead of the cumbersome scrolling menu used with the shoulder buttons? In a game like Skyrim it could show our map or could maybe store our book collection for a little reading on the go?
As a vita owner this news makes me very excited because not only can I use my vita as a game controller for my PS3 but it can also enhance the experience of new and old games should the developers choose to use this technology. I'm a firm believer that if Sony can make the Vita a great device on it's own but also compliment the PS3's gaming experience then it just makes these two offerings that much better.
This also makes me think that the PS3+vita combo is greater than the XBOX's smartglass technology simply because tablets and smart phones do not make great gaming devices because you have no texture feedback on what buttons your are pushing and using analog sticks on a touch screen requires you to look at how far the sticks are being pushed or if your fingers are in the right spot. Are you going to be awesome playing Call of Duty on your ipad compared to someone using a controller? No way. Could be competitive with a Vita against people using a dualshock 3? Most definitely! I've used my Vita to get in the top 100 standings in the world (or nation?) on Motorstorm RC, a game where both Vita and PS3 gamers compete directly.
What do ya'll think about the possibility of the Vita becoming more than just a portable gaming device but also a possible compliment/controller to the PS3 gaming experience?
Thanks for sharing that, watched the whole thing...looks good! :DLink
Shakycam off-screen and blurry, but beggars can't be choosers. Not sure how long it will stay up.
For those who don't want to/can't be bothered watching from the snippet I watched:
shinrabanshou
- Parts of it play like Heavy Rain
- Other parts of it are played from a first-person perspective where you seem to be invisible and can manipulate certain things in the environment like a ghost
- Animations look nice/fluid from what I can tell from the poor quality video
[QUOTE="Jrfanfreak88"][QUOTE="ShadowsDemon"]Awesome. Too bad I already have LBP2 and that piece of $hit that A4O is.ShadowsDemonSo? Download LBP2 then trade in the disc version and get something else? Physical copies>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>downloaded ones. I'm a collector. Ah, well in that case I understand. I'm one of those people where if I can get a sweet deal on the digital version I'll get it and then trade in the physical disc for more games. Like when Borderlands GOTY edition was on sale on the PSN I actually traded in the disc for more than what I downloaded it for.
That statement is so true. Don't see how they complain about $5 a month meaning we get tons of discounts and free stuff when they have to pay nearly that just to be able to play their games online.Bu bu bu I rather pay to rent the online portion of my games.
Eddie-Vedder
I literally have none of those. I might get PSN+ just to take advantage of this great deal.Messiahbolical-InFamous 2 and LBP2 make it worth it. Both games have easily 20 hours+, over 50 hours each if you get into the online created content or just unlocking everything you can.
Why would they allow someone to pay $5 for $260 worth of games and actually let them keep the games if they decide to no longer pay the $5 a month? It would take over TWO YEARS of paying $5 a month to pay for the current price of these games on the PSN store. People like you that make statements like these just blow my mind. How on Earth do you think Sony can continue to do great deals like this if they don't keep people in the subscription service? Otherwise you could just pay $5 a month if you see a deal you like and then just cancel whenever you want without consequence. It's like saying HEY if I rent a movie from Netflix and cancel my subscription do I get to keep it the movie I just got for FREE!?!?!?!??! Ugh some of ya'll are insanely frustrating. So are they actually yours ? Or do Sony just take them away again when you cancel your sub ?
