@plus_1: Really? SOCOM is the only PS2 game you want to play? There are hundreds of other great games to play on PS2 and dozens of better games that don't have online play.
@Shadow4020: At the very least, any PS2 classics you bought on PS3 will transfer over. They haven't said that for sure yet, but considering Sony invented the Cross Buy concept, they would be fools to not implement that. Worst case scenario, you're paying $10 a pop, which isn't bad at all.
@Keaze_: Depends on the remaster. GOW3 was $40, Heavy Rain and Beyond are going to be $30 each, and the Uncharted Collection was basically $20 per game. The only remaster I thought was a ripoff was GTAV, but at least they added new features.
@ksbwings: PS4 CAN'T emulate PS3. PS3's architecture was very complicated. Try looking for Sega Saturn emulators. It's pretty much the same scenario. If it could, Sony would have done it. That's why they have PS Now. It's not a good alternative but it's the only option. Also, the PS2 had one of the best libraries of all time so that's not a bad thing at all.
@bfa1509: The downside of using a program like PCSX2 is that you have to do some serious configuring to get a game to work properly. I spent 3 hours trying to get Shadow Hearts to work and look properly and eventually gave up. With one standardized console, all the settings will be the same for everyone so it should be a cinch to get games to work on PS4, comparatively.
@bfa1509: Third time? I'm certain they will allow you to play any PS2 classics purchased on PS3 on PS4. It worked like that with the PS1 classics when the Vita came out. Well, most of them anyways...
