Yep, not buying one. Nintendo has one sketchy looking track history since the SNES. (yes I include the N64 because Nintendo didn't want to join the 21st century and move to better media... till it was well too late that is.)
Kinda tired of the same old from square. I understand they're a Japanese company... but its 2013, their fan base is much larger than just Japan, how about we get some newer different themes? I'm tired of the child like lead characters where im just never quite sure if they're male or female. (yes cloud DID look effeminate, I don't care what you say). You don't spend 10+ years practicing anything and still look like skin and bones.
This isn't about console wars. This is about M$ respecting us as people and not mindless cattle. Already they are forcing used game retailers to pay them for a used game sale. Who do you think is gonna make up that cost? Definitely not gamestop. The added charge will be passed directly on to US as in, we will pay more. paying 59 bucks for a used game?! now it's very possible. And now M$ will be spying on us even more? Console wars ended long ago. Wake up to the console cartel. BORG
sounds to me Nintendo is trying the drum up excuses anticipating failure. Development for the Wii and now Wii U has been for last gen tech. I can understand their argument if Wii U was released shortly after xbox 360 and PS3 but it wasn't. Indie developers develop awesome games with less than than a quarter of the budget. And even now, Nintendo has been cutting corners on tech to make the sale of a mediocre console profitable. Pathetic Nintendo... bad players.
Naughty Dog is completely wrong. It is so blatantly obvious that girls do NOT play video games at all. Girls dress in pink, play with barbies only and only want to play house and cook. Video games are for the boys ONLY. The fact that there is a female in this game is completely absurd and regardless of how much development time was involved, the game is doomed to a 3.5 average at the most because there's a female as the lead character. And she's on the cover? not half naked without enormously exaggerated body parts? women have no place in video games except maybe being the passive victim that the hero rescues from peril. You want to put women in video games make a house keeping game where she's barefoot and pregnant slaving over a stove. lol naughty dog you fail. If you read this far into my troll I commend you for your ability to read a load of crud and keeping a straight face. If you bought into this, even for a second lolz to you and mission accomplished.
If they kept they kept the original japanese voice actor for the japanese version, but decided to dump Hayter, If I was Hayter, I would be so pissed off to the highest level. How can you not take this personally?
@Sampawende It doesn't matter whether Hayter was good or not, (IMO he was excellent for the role for the past 12 years). EVERYONE likes having something familiar even when the core game is changing. it makes the game iconic. It makes it easier for the player to relate to. Perfect example is dragonball Z. in japan they didn't DARE try to change the voice actor for goku. even in the new movie/series they got the same voice actor who's like 70 years old now. Real jerk move there Kojima I expected nothing, and i got less. =(
Mass Effect movie = bad idea. It's going to ruin so many people's shepard. I don't care how good the movie turns out to be, I will always favor my interpretation of shepard.
Since when have publishers known what they were talking about? This problem is as old as console gaming itself. What has changed? Majority of gamers have grown up. Gaming has been around for almost 40 years now. Don't get too ahead of yourselves though we still have more maturing to do. How about an RPG with a person of color as the lead that's not stereotypical? Look how long it took for beyond good and evil to get the commercial success it deserved? 8 years and a rerelease.
And in the end, who pays for this entire debacle? we the people. We get an incomplete game for those of us trusting enough to purchase this embarassment. (shame on you both developers and publishers) And for those that were hesitant enough not to buy this fearing this exact course of events to happen, we miss out yet again on an idea bulging with potential but brought down by it's own colossal failure.
