@delta5931 Probably because it started out from just a single person making a mod for Arma, and it was and still is one of the most brutal survival games out there.
Have you ever seen a mod become a standalone game with all kinds of support on console? No cuz mods dont exist on consoles.
A better argument is this game offers very little content to justify a 60 dollar pricetag. No leaderboards, no Modding, not much variety in weapons, 3 titans. The only thing going for it is its 10 decent maps. I've seen free to play FPS's that offer more content than this game.
I guess people are easily please these days, atleast on consoles. I know many of us on PC can see past this game and realize its not worht 60 dollars. It honestly doesn't really offer anything to justify such a high price tag. Your average gamer will most likely get bored of the game within abou 10 hours. No mod support even though its running on the Source engine, no leaderboards, very few game modes and its incredibly easy. (The AI is retarded).
I've seen free to play games that offer more content than this. And that are just as fun to play. Sure the game is fun, but the fun really isn't going to last all that long. A few months from now most people will be bored of this game. Meanwhile I still play free FPS's like Team Fortress 2 that are still fun and fresh 8 years later.
Soo not only is this game running on an old engine (Source) But they chose NOT to put Mod support in the game? Pretty much the one reason developers use the Source engine in the first place is because of its amazing Mod capabilities. Pretty sad, and Im pretty sure this is the case because of how greedy EA is when it comes to DLC.
So what we get is a "next gen" game that looks incredibly dated already, without Mod support on the source engine. lol
@akassassin11 @Kooken58 @runstalker Saying its average doesn't mean its bad. Its just...well average. Doesn't really bring anything new to the table but still fun.
If the game had some mod support and the campaign was actually interesting...this game would def be amazing. Just because GS gave it a good review doesn't mean its amazing to everyone.
@runstalker Its also the first game on the Source Engine that does not have Mod support..Which kind of pisses me off. This game would of been a clear buy for me if it actual had some mod support with it. But instead, we just get another average FPS game.
@redikan @Kooken58 Was just tryign to say...you are forced to play through this "campaign" of sorts to unlock your Titans. And the campaign itself is just bad. Nothing but a little bit of dialog and a cutscene after a game. No scripted event, nothing cool happens to the map or anything...just a normal match with a bit of talking from the characters.
