We have one at my office. Its interesting but not something anyone would want to use full time. It does indeed bug yer fingers after a little while. But as far as accuracy, it has always seemed to know what you are trying to type.

Tothe one guy saying his eyes are perfect and stuff. One of the first questions asked when I was getting an eye exam was "Do you spend a considerably amount of time in front of an LCD screen?" So they actually do play havoc on the old peepers.

So your best bet is going even bigger then 23" and sitting farther back...

YoungSinatra25

ABSOLUTLY no conclusive evidence to support this! For every argument for it, we can fine one against.

Sure, proper room lighting is good and sure the higher quality the screen (for color and brightness uniformity) the better but Im goin on 15 years of staring at screens all day long (sitting less than 2 ft away in many cases) and I have had no problems at all. And hell, when Im not right in front of a 30" LCD for work or play I'm 8ft from a 108" screen at home in my theater room!

Best bet is to go 23" and sit back? Give me a break. Yer best bet is to go 23" MIMINMUM, sit wherever you like, but make sure is not a Walmart screen! Get one with a nice DPI and consistent lux across the entire screen.

Its worth whatever someone will pay :) ...Between Craigslist and Ebay you can expect $50-$120 depending on condition of the card, what accessories you have and what version it is (Factory OC'd tend to fetch a bit more). Funny...I am selling my pair on Craigslist now at $250 for the pair. Been offered $200 but they been up for a day so Im waiting a bit before going for it.

If you DON'T want to OC then grab the 580 as it will be faster. I own a couple EVGA 570 SC's and they have been great thusfar. I will say OCing either card really isn't needed unless you are at extreme resolutions as they both perform very very well. I have pushed each 570 of mine a little farther but again, all I got was more heat really as I could max most stuff already. I will say this, OCing is FAR easier then it used to be. No more command lines or odd interfaces of many years back. Now, most card manufacturers have a streamlined app that makes it cake. Core clock, Mem clock, Fan speed. Temps are shown right there and you just drag the slider up a few mhz....hit apply...test er out and see if its still stable. And this is coming from a guy who never OC's anything. Like I said, I pushed em a bit farther for fun but they are at stock clocks now and really, only reason I got the OC ones was because when I did they were the same price as the regular 570.

Hmmm. Interesting. I use a 30" Screen at work all day, then game on the same type of 30"er at home. Its res is beyond just 1080p of course but I have been doing it for years and still have nearly 20/10 vision. So....pretty much totally FALSE. In addition it IS true that most PC screens are far superior for long term viewing then a TV would be due to more even brightness and smaller dot-pitch. You'll be just fine. .......I havent seen Lencrafters stock skyrocket after WoW came out....and hundreds of thousands of peeps play it...non stop, right on top of their screens, with no break at all (just one lil example) Bottom line, you'll be just fine.

Well they too are DAMN close. Same Wattage Intel faster clock AMD faster Bus 2 core for Intel 4 core for AMD But......there really is NOT that big a difference between 2 and 4 cores in most games ESPECIALLY on a laptop. (In other apps, may be more of a dif). Benchmark wise they are both damn neck and neck too. http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Core-i5-480M-Notebook-Processor.41730.0.html http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Phenom-II-X4-N970-Notebook-Processor.42725.0.html I guess I would just google those exact models and see if one has better reviews?

Could be a few ways to do it. First off, may depend on the speakers you have and sound card you get. If the speakers are "Home Theater" speakers, then you may need a receiver as most all sound cards do not have speaker wire terminals lol.

Maybe a bit more info on the rest of the hardware involved.

If the PC you are building will have a video card with an HDMI out then it may supply the audio capabilities for you (without the need for a sound card to do it)

In addition, what kind of "monitor" is it? That term could mean a comupter LCD or a 55" Plasma TV. Just a bit more on specifics could help.
