Why start a new post? Why not post in the other lol. Anyhow, my bro just got a laptop with the Optimus system and he hasn't had any issues at all so far. he doesn't play a wide ariety of games, but he does play em. WoW (everybody plays that damn game), COD, Fable, Civ 5.....all have run fine and switched to dedicated when needed.

The newer the game, generally the lower the settings may have to be. But its a decent enough system. Not for 5grand...but if the price is good then its not bad at all.

This, if a new console generation is around the corner (which it probably is with Wii U, and next year the other 2 will be announced), then current cards might not be that long term durable

C_Rule

Are you kidding me?

You have no idea what ur talking about...the new gen of consoles will be as powerful(regarding graphics cards) as a 280gtx/hd4870...at best...how can you bring consoles as an argument in this discussion?lol...the knowloge some people have...un-freaking-believable...

Ha... Irony...

LOL ...that made me LAUGH! Anyhow, its also neat to know so many people that work behind the scenes fro Sony and Microsoft also post here! (Oh wait..none of ya have a clue on any of it...all just lil tiny guesses based on lil tiny rumor)

I own 2 570 SC's in SLi and have been VERY impressed with the noise level. (This is going on the assumption that you have a decent case for moderate noise suppression)....They are silent during most operations and gaming and only barely perceptible even when playing intensive games like Crysis 2 or Witcher 2 Maxed (and then...only if the sound is down to nuthin.

No no NO!! That is not overkill at that Res. Its not like its a massive resolution but heres the thing, maxed out, even at that res, games like Crysis, Shogun 2, Farcry 2 and certainly newer titles and titles to come like Witcher 2 and Deus Ex will still struggle to maintain a constant 60 fps on either of those cards. So it depends a bit, if you wanna play near maxed, 100% not overkill. If you are more of a "mid level" player then you would be juuuuust fine as well. But getting the better cards for that res will help the longevity of the PC as titles get more demanding. No one can argue that.

...Something more seems to have been going on here then meets the eye. Cant open..but getting a new Vid Card? Seems way odd. Cant tell us if its a pre-built and what it is either? ...its all twilight zone in this thread.

Why get two cards right off the bat? Use that money and get a stronger single gpu, so you have the option of adding another down the line.

Azurites
Thats one of the BEST ideas one can have! Theory being, ya get a KILLER GPU now (GTX570, 580 or whetever AMD is doing), then down the road when games are no longer "maxable" you buy another identical card (and since this is at least a year down the line its gonna be cheaper) and bang....you are right back to the top. Downside might be the need for a beefier PSU though.
