Everyone who posted on this topic doesn't know what they're talking about or can't see an obvious strawman argument. Don't listen because these are two republicans talking to each other.

[QUOTE="LOXO7"]Yes. When I smell aspartame my allergic reaction makes me throw up all over the place in public. It's pretty embarrassing. So the government should also ban diet sodas, gum, and Dr. Pepper also.leviathan91

Dr. Pepper? Texas would definitely secede from the union if Dr. Pepper was banned.

No. Not banned. Just made illegal.

But last time people were donating to a candidate who was going to end the wars day one, like the second Bush did the election previous when he was running against Al Gore. Something significant happened during the current presidents time in office in order to make both the democratic and republican candidates support for more illegal, undeclared, trillion dollar costing wars. More brainwashed, ignorant people perhaps?

Because it's important. The US government works if people paid attention.

Already sending your child to a public school is corporal punishment enough. If you care about education, send them somewhere that cares for education too.

[QUOTE="kraychik"][QUOTE="LOXO7"][QUOTE="kraychik"] Answer this simple question with a yes or no response - is there an automatic moral/philosophical contradiction between supporting capital punishment on the one hand while opposing abortion on the other?

Yes. But you are going to have to describe your thought process more thoroughly without the sidewinder help Greyseal put everyone through.

If you can't understand what I've explained thus far it's your problem, not mine. There is no inherent contradiction between supporting capital punishment and opposing abortion.

I think you've said a convict lost their right to live when they murdered someone else. I disagree. We have to support them in welfare, until they get right.

It was pretty insulting that the waiter (not a sexist term) kept the change and returned my dollars. I was really urged to not give more because she didn't give me the right change back and she probably assumed I wouldn't tip higher than the few cents she took. But against my a-hole judgement I gave her a few more dollars, because I'm such a nice guy.

There must be a lot of money in these tips. The government should tax it.
