Hi everyone! :)
I'm thrilled to be back here! The last week as been so incredibly busy that it's frustrating! I'm going to go through all the details, just to give you an idea just how frustrating it was.
So where do I start? Well it was late last week, on a Wednesday night, very late. 11pm to be exact. Hubby and I were finishing off packing luggage etc, the girls has been sleeping since 6pm. Our flight as at 4am the next morning. So come midnight, we woke the girls up, dressed them, gave them food and away we went on our way to the airport. 2 hr drive from where we are.
Anyway, this was the first time Claire had ever been at an airport or on a plane. So we gave her a window seat, because we heard that that makes flying easier. How? I'll never know. The long lines at check in made Claire and Ella both very frustrated. Ella started crying, and Claire was trying to sit down on the luggage! In the end, hubby had to carry her! Geez. At Perth International Airport, they have a deck where you can watch planes take off and land. So we took them up there, and Claire asked, and I'm not kidding, she asked: "Does God hold the planes in the air?" Huh? Hubby explained to her that it was a machine, that was very good and advanced, she didn't understand.
Time to board the plane, Claire was ever so excited, so was I a little. I love flying. As we got on the plane, with a excited four year old and me holding a baby in my arms, we got looks from childless travellers who sighed and rolled their eyes. Yes, we got the looks. But did they feel foolish afterwards! Claire stared out the window while we took off. I sat next to her and hubby looked after Ella for the 5 hour flight to Singapore. The staff of Singapore Airlines were ever so nice to us.
We stopped at Singapore, had an hours break, then caught a British Airways flight to London. But this was the flight from hell. 13 hours and bumpy most of the way, Claire puked when we neared London. Yuck! We had another break for 2 hrs, then caught another plane to Edinburgh, which was even worse. We had to circle Edinburgh for 45 minutes because of traffic. *Sigh* At one stage we went through a cloud and the plane dropped a little, and our stomachs went with it. But it wasn't much, and is normal when going through cloud. We got off th plane and drove to our home town.
So after all the moans and groans, here I am in my new house, which is a bombsite right now because of the boxes everywhere. It's lovely, so peaceful. It's in a deserted area, and we have horses too, which Claire loves!
I'll leave you with that statement. Until next time...
Love Libby,
xoxo
