>RedLetterMedia reviews of the prequel trilogy "comically hard on them" is a drastic understatement. They're extremely funny in my opinion and they are relentless on the movies. The episode 1 review is 70 minutes while the reviews of 2 and 3 are both 90 minutes. The guy who reviews them does so as a character named Mr. Plinkett, who is over 100 years old (he was a survivor of the Titanic). Anyone who has ever watched those movies or liked Star Wars at all should check them out. Here's a link. http://redlettermedia.com/plinkett/star-wars/
>God Mode Makes sense I wasn't thinking about God difficulty from the first game. Didn't you also note you used a lot of God Mode as a boy? That'd have to predate the first God of War game.
>Brutal Doom Thanks for the link it looks like there's some fun stuff there. That person's name is Jan. That can be a name for a man or a woman. The more I play it the more impressed I am with the work and attention to detail. Some enemies will become enraged if you taunt them, killing enemies with a fatality grants health, but is dangerous to go for since you have to kill them with the fist. There is a kick you can use at melee range without having to switch weapons, and you can kick certain enemies in the balls to stun them. Tons of work has gone into the sprites and animations. Vertical aiming and jumping have been in most programs like Zdoom for a while, but this mod utilizes both to a new extent. You can jump in the air and kick to do a special jumping kick that does extra damage for example, and the abilitly to aim vertically lets you get headshots.
>That sort of treatment for God of War I wouldn't expect anything for a few decades. I'm sure eventually, if not already, there's some sort of emulated version people could potentially modify. That's what happened with old 8 and 16 bit games, but those are all sprites and a lot easier to work with than 3d graphics and combat I'm sure.
>Doom 2 on the highest difficulty I've beaten it several times on the second hardest, but I've never tried the very hardest. The main difference is that the enemies respawn shortly after being killed, I think something like 2 minutes later, while the ammo, armor, health, etc, don't respawn. You'd pretty much have to have all the levels memorized. Hopefully I'll get another playthrough or 2 with Brutal Doom.
>The Mother games Only 1 has been released in the states for the SNES called Earthbound. This is the second one, called Mother 2 in Japan. Mother 1 I have played and beaten, but only because I'm such a huge fan of the series. That game was for Famicom, and it is one of the most difficult games I have ever played in my entire life. We're talking like Battletoads or Ghosts n' Goblins hard, but as an RPG. It has a great story though. Mother 3 was released back in 2005 for GBA and it's my personal favorite. These games are drastically different than God of War though. God of War games are all about anger and hatred and action, while Mother games have child protagonists and carry themes of love (specifically that between parents and children) friendship, and fear. The games are also really crazy, taking place in a world that's pretty much a Japanese person's idea of what America is like. It's got interesting moments such as fighting a sentient pile of vomit as a boss who is defeated by distracting him with honey made from flies, a character who is a man who turned himself into a dungeon, and the most frightening part of any game I personally have ever played.
>Some folks didn't like you I wonder why. I noticed the folks on the DBG board don't like you either. You seem an agreeable fellow, willing to help out with any part of any God of War game. Even going out of your way to find coverage and videos relevant to the situation. And you like to chat about all sorts of various things. I have found in my experiences people often get butthurt when a man says something with some authority.
