> Disney CEO Bob Iger has suggested fans got fatigued by too much Star Wars.
And yet the Marvel films are churning out hit after hit seemingly multiple times a year. Hmm, now what could be the difference?
"Mr Iger, the quality of the Star Wars scripts were not very good. That's what you get when you don't ensure a cohesive story arc in a trilogy but rather allow each director to collect a second paycheck by also writing the script."
It's amazing how Disney can do a great job with Marvel, but revert to amateur hour in developing Star Wars.
Anyways, I'll be there for the next film. What can I say, I'm a fan... Sorta interested to see this train wreck pull into the station. But I just can't see this being wrapped up nicely. But please, surprise the heck out of me. I'd love to be wrong here.
@Poodger: I haven't gotten to that point in the comics yet, I've only just started the 3rd compendium collection. But it will be interesting to see how this goes. I'm looking forward to many surprises in the various character arcs.
I admit (maybe I'm the only one) but excited for The Walking Dead's return tonight. Interested to see where they go with this new group, the Whisperers and to get to know the new cast members, as we are losing so many or our original cast.
My one worry is with Negan. I love the character, but I wonder if would have been better to kill him off during the "war." I'd like to see some shift with him, otherwise it's just dragging out what went on before. So will he now be the leader of some underdog group? Or does get to the top quickly and become a major threat again?
Sad to see her go (and the others) but it does leave it open to add some new interesting characters. I wish them all well. But we'll see some of them in the movies that are scheduled for later. So it's not all bad.
@Roman217: > In fact there are 3% of climate scientists...
So you are sitting with 100 experts, 97 say X, but you feel you will give more weight to the 3 saying Y is the answer? Ahh, okay then. Not the choice I would make...
You are right, science is not a democracy. It's a process, one follows the data to where it leads you. Honestly the odds are that with a 100 experts in anything you'll have a few outliers. 3% is actually very low. They don't "prove" anything. Only that we'll always have a few that just don't get it.
As to it being hot or cold outside. This has been beaten to death in the news. You might be thinking of weather (hot/cold) vs climate which shows that the average temperature of the planet is going up. The planet! Global warming doesn't mean we won't have local areas that are cold. As the meme goes, "global hunger is a myth, because I had a nice lunch today..."
Would have liked to watch the video but the ad breaks were too long. Keep it to a single 15 second break, even 2 of those would be manageable right after each other. But not ad, after ad, after ad...
@nsa_protocol44: Besides waiting for a complete version, I also like a sales price, so usually I wait for most games. So if there is an exclusive period, this won't impact me much. By the time the sale comes around a year later I'll be good to go.
Having said that, there is an easy way for Steam to combat this, change their business model. They sorta own the market here. To keep it give more back to the developers. Otherwise I can't blame Epic for fighting "fair" here.
> The move is supposedly part of management's belief that giving the creative teams more time will lead to a better end result...
That's refreshing to hear. Too many times films just don't work and I sometimes wonder with the process is everything going too fast? I remember when JJ Abrams (and maybe this would have made no difference) he had a limited time to get The Force Awakens out, and even when Harrison Ford broke/hurt his foot(?) no extensions were allowed. It's nuts.
I hope this new policy leads to better films. Honestly I would like to see more time put into scripts, reviewing them, fixing them before filming even starts. But again, I read that due to aggressive dates a film will start in production when the script isn't even complete.
Just saw it today, honestly I liked it. It's not spectacular, but it's not horrible either. The movie is a slow burn, matches the pace of Unbreakable and Split. I think it's a nice wrap up to the trilogy.
