No you don't. The update today was for matchmaking in HALO 3 and i've already played the game. Also Microsoft issued an official statement confirming it won't ban anyone who got the game early.
Just hook them all up toa router and that does get pretty insane. I've lanned a few times and it's crazy. I'm having another one also on saturday and it's going to be sweet.
