[QUOTE="Mantorok"][QUOTE="gaminggeek"] [QUOTE="SteelAttack"]Great music. Nice looking game. What is this game about?gaminggeek
I'm no NIGHTS veteren. I think a couple of kids are dreaming and you're like this clown that flies in their dreamworlds to cheesy excellent music :P
Well, based on that does this game really deserve it's own thread? I'm not sold at all on this if it's only claim to fame is flying through rings.
I'm the wrong person to ask that. NIGHTS vets should. I merely found myself posting info and had so much eventually, Idecided to dump it all in one thread :P It's the return of a nostalgic, clas-sic game for many people, so it's worth keeping an eye on.
The brilliance of NiGHTS gameplay is in its combo system. In NiGHTS, you fly on a rail through a 3D world collecting blue spheres, stars, and rings. This creates a combo string. Now there's only a limited amount of time in each level, so the object is to create a super long combo string that can last the entire level. What's really cool is that each level track loops back around to the begining, so (if there's enough time left) you can fly the level trackagain continuing your super combo string and racking up massive points. However, enemy attacks or missing items or rings can break your combo string. Also, in order for your combo points to be valid (and to finish the level track), you have to make it back to the begining of the level before time runs out. Mastering the level track layouts is key to super combos, and is the real fun of NiGHTS.
You also have other goals too like destroying Idea Chambers with 20 blue spheres and mid-Boss/final boss battles.
I should also mention that the original NiGHTS had 7 levels (Dreams worlds) with four level tracks and a mid-boss battle in each.
