I honestly prefer older games to most new ones. For me, 2D will always be far better than 3D. 8-Bit and 16-Bit era will always be my favorite time as a gamer which is why I love my DS and Virtual Console collection so much. They both offer me the kinds ofgames I love to play at a low cost.

That's pretty cool. Something like having different chimes when booting up the DS during holidays or a different chime during each month of the year would have been cool too. Sort of like how the PSP's default background changes color each month. Korn_Wallace

Yeah, Nintendo could've done a lot more with it. I like the ideas of different monthly chimes and background changes. Just about any other color would be better than the blinding white background the DS has now.

Super C is still worth a download on the VC and you can play the arcade version of Contra on the DS (Konami Arcade Classics). The only version of Super C that needs to be avoided is the XBLA version.:wink:

Man, I hope this is true. Thankfully, I haven't purchased Super C on VC yet. :)

I noticed something odd about my DS Lite today. The little chime that normally sounds when booting up the DS was noticably different today; it was at a much higher pitch than normal. At first I was worried my speakers were malfuntioning, but my games sounded just fine.

After playing 20 minutes of Meteos, I booted up Animal Crossing and found an animal offering me a present. That's when I realised why the boot-up chime sounded so different: Today's my birthday!

Of course I knew it's my birthday, but I never realised that the DS make a special chime just for it. I tested my theory by switching the day to the 29th, and sure enough the chime returned to normal.

This isn't mind-blowing or anything, but I think it's a neat feature that many may not notice. :)

i hope they ditch the scanning mechanic in future games. i really feel it takes an already questionable nintendo staple of using walls of text to advance the story, and makes it even more tedious. big thumbs down @ scanning. OneWingedAngeI

Just get rid of the buttons. They're ridiculous.It's like they've turned the reviews into the cash register at McDonalds (if you get that,go ahead and give yourself an extra 5 points on your cool score).If you've got the time to read what each one means, you've got the time to read the damned review.
