I don't know if this true. You can say that Halo sold a bunch of XBOXes, but how many more XBOXes "sold" when Halo 2 came out? Show me some stats. My hunch is that 80% or more of the people out there who want Halo 3 have already bought a 360. (just like a bunch of people bought a PS3 in anticipation for future games).

A game only "sells" systems in huge quantities when it is near the launch or if the system is relatively inexpensive.

Nah, it could've been longer, like 8 or 9 hours. I don't really remember, since I played it on launch day. I still play it, though, just like I still play Warioware.

Sales matter alot, this is why the PS2 was such a huge hit. PS1's brand name carried over the PS2. The Wii is becoming a huge brand name (possibly like iPod?).

Case in point, iPod is NOT the best MP3 player out there, but it is the slickest looking and people trust the name. Saying that the iPod will fail makes as much sense as saying that Nintendo will fail.

iPod is to Mp3 market as the Wii is to gaming market? We will have to see, but the comparison is very strong.

What's better than the iPod? iPod is easy to use, looks nice, pretty good battery life, video, best player (iTunes), etc. etc. But yeah brand name matters ALOT. This is why the PSP and PS3 haven't tanked to oblivion (yet).

I love and use iPod. But other out there (Zune, iRiver) have a lot more functionality and capacity.

If there is no other reason to like the game, like it because you can get your friends to stand up and make fools out of themselves for an hour or more....no booze involved!

And the lowest on the rung sold 11 Million, if you would have taken the time to look. Halo might have made 12th or 13th (which is still pretty dang sweet!)
