[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"][QUOTE="Ninten007"]Thats not true. The PS2 was graphically capable of going up against the more powerful GC and Xbox. Look at such games as MGS 3, God of War, Star Wars Battlefront, RE 4? Point was that the PS2 was quite on the same level as the other systems.

The Wii is not on the same level as the more powerful consoles. Actually right now the gameplay on the Wii sucks compared to the 360 and PS3.

And 1 more thing, graphics do matter and help enhance gameplay. If you dont believe this statement, we should still be playing on SNES graphics. And if graphics dont matter, why did Nintendo make the Wii a little more powerful than GC?

Ninten007

If the PS2 was as capable as the GC and Xbox, then why did they not put Doom 3, Far Cry, Republic Commando and The Chronicles of Riddick Escape From Butcher Bay on the PS2?

All fanboy's logic is flawed and so is yours.

If the GC was so capable why didnt it get Battlefronts, God of Wars, Final Fanasties, GTA, etc?

Maybe because....those games were all franchised to one system at the time(not sure about Battlefronts, though).

Besides, MP and MP2 had graphics LEAPS and BOUNDS above many PS2 and XBOX games. Again, your logic fails. The gaming market will be laughing a year from now as Wii continues to rock.

You opened up a whole can of worms, but I'll try to be polite.

1)Actually right now the gameplay on the Wii sucks compared to the 360 and PS3 Does it? That is totally up to opinion.

2)If you dont believe this statement, we should still be playing on SNES graphics I still whip out my old SNES and have just as much fun with it as I did in the old days. Many "hardcore" gamers would agree with me.

3)And if graphics dont matter, why did Nintendo make the Wii a little more powerful than GC Um....didn't you just say a few lines before that graphics DO matter? You should be happy that the idiotic Nintendo has taken your superior idea to heart.

Metroid. Looking back, I can't quite wrap my head around the idea of a dot-matrix Gameboy game (Metroid II) being scary, but somehow - with all of the sounds and ambience - it WAS!

Everyone defends their own console. You know why?

I'd wager it's because everyone ENJOYS their own console.

So, when you tell Wii owners "The Wii sucks"and "The Wii is not fun at all", they look at themselves and wonder, "Then what the hell have I been enjoying these past few months? I'm having lots of fun." In response to that - of course - people cry "casual".

Same goes for PS3 cows. Yeah, some people didn't like the low # of PS3 launch titles, but they bought it anyways? You know why? Because they enjoyed it. They wouldn't have bought it if it had NO games. PS3 obviously has SOME games. But now (just like when the 360 came out), people are bashing it because it "doesn't have enough games"....Pfffft. If a PS3 owner is satisfied, then that's fine with me. I don't need to bash his system to make myself feel better.

It will die out right after the DS does.flazzle

Er, yeah. That's like saying "The PS3 will die out when the PSP does".

Does that logic sit well with you? I hope it doesn't, because it ISN'T LOGIC.

The appeal of the Wii isn't its L33t GRAFIX or - honestly - not even it's exclusive titles.

People like the Wii because it is fun. The controls are fun. They like the Wii because you can have fun with MULTIPLE people in the living room (360 and PS3 can do this too, mind you).

So, any game that allows "more" fun (one more controller) in addition to more multiplayer minigames will be a huge seller on the Wii. Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc. will always be able to sell their games in droves on any console. A game that convinces the haters and non-believers that the system is worth it SHOULD be selling in huge quantities.

I find the argument that the Wii is going to die because it is has "fewer games" fundamentally flawed.

First of all, Wii will have plenty of games, and plenty of GREAT games, for that matter. People try to say that the Gamecube was crap and that the Wii will follow the same trend, but GC had some awesome games that were on par - if not superior - to the PS2 and the XBOX. Have you Wii/GC haters ever given the GC the time of day, or did the efforts of Sony and MS brainwash you? You use screenshots to compare PS3 and the 360 now....has anyone SEEN some of the GC games out there (if we're just talking about graphics;gameplay aside).

Even if the Wii had "only a few good games", it doesn't mean that it will die out. Original XBOX, anyone? That system had a CRAP lineup compared to the PS2. Yeah, there were some awesome hits, but for every Halo 2 and KotOR, PS2 had 15 awesome games to match it. However, I think we all know which one dominated the market (until it was killed by its child, the 360).

[QUOTE="cheezisgoooood"]

Yup, this is absolutely right, and don't forget the Nintendo 64 came out a bit later than the Playstation, had far better graphics from day one, and still lost because it didn't get enough games, even though Nintendo had been the crowned champion of the console market for two straight generations. Sound familiar? N64 didn't fail, but it put Nintendo in the last place position for another two generations. We could be looking at the exact same thing for PS3.

chadwardennn

lol u forgot one thing. Its Sony, the brand is just toooo strong. Unlike nintendo.

Mmmm. Convincing. I'm guessing that your first console was...PS1? PS2? Nintendo has THE BIGGEST branding all around the world. Who doesn't know the mario theme song? Ask yourself that? Now, who doesn't know the theme to FFX? A whole load of people.

[QUOTE="HeedleGlavin"][QUOTE="SecretPolice"]I hear ya but ";N"; learned a valuable lesson and has intentionaly kept supply short on Wii and has had the effect of making people want the Wii more. Had they done the same with GC ; I believe it would have sold alot more ! SecretPolice

They've sold through 6.5 million consoles - and you think they are "intentionally" holding back supply? So, you're saying Nintendo could have potentially sold alot more Wii at this point in time?

Considering they're still selling out and all...

I'm saying they sold 6 mil b/c of the restricted supply - yes - ask yourself this, if they were piled up on the shelf; would some of the people who bought one b/c they figured it's a hot comodity not lose a little enthusiasm to purchase it knowing they could come back any day of the week and purchase it without a problem?

Tell me there are not many who have buyers remorse after having bought the Wii and for some time now and stating " it's colecting dust"  Maybe it's just me i dunno?

If you just look around these forums enough, you will see that EVERY system has a group of "buyer's remorse" people who say that they don't enjoy their 30/PS3/or Wii. Just because a few people say that their system is "collecting dust" doesn't automaticaly make it a crap system.

Gamers have been spoiled. The trend goes back and forth:

Atari and Megadrive and stuff like that were awesome because they were among the first games. Any game was "good" on those systems.

Nintendo and Sega released sweet games when the NES, Genesis, SNES, and N64 came out.

Then, the trend shifted. PS1 (and PS2) both had crap first years, but they eventually came out with good games.

Then, the XBOX came out, launching with Halo, and the trend shifted back to "strong launch titles". Obviously, all developers WANT to have strong launch titles, but it doesn't always happen.

Most of the complaining and naysaying is coming from XBOX (and 360) owners who were treated well by Halo (even though the first year of the 360 was crap. all it had was better graphics) and then they point the finger at Wii and PS3 owners and laugh.

Get off your highhorse.
