[QUOTE="Maelkav"][QUOTE="mcxps3"][QUOTE="Maelkav"]@Rosencrantz - VERY well put, and you are absolutely right. At first, I think that MS and Sony, along with a whole host of cynics, thought that the Wii would be a flop, because everyone thought that the Gamecube was a flop (It wasn't a FLOP. It simply sold less than it's competators)
Unfortunately, MS and Sony forgot that Nintendo had a flawless track record before the GC with NES, SNES, and the N64, three systems all in a row that dominated the market, not to mention its DOMINATION of the handheld market.
mcxps3
um ur wrong the only console that nintendo had that dominated the market was the NEs cuz it had no competition. The genesis beaat the snes, the ps1 beat the n64, and of course ps2 destroyed the gamecube.
Wow. Dead wrong. NES had LOTS of competition from LOTS of consoles. Genesis was OWNED by the SNES (which came out after, by the way) and N64 cut a HUGE chunk out of the market before PSOne came along. My guess is that your information is based on what systems your friends had on your street when you were growing up. I never mentioned the Gamecube, f.y.i.
um by competition i meant serious kind. not all those frivolous systems. And to all you nintendo fan boys out there the NES IS THE ONLY HOME CONSOLE NINTENDO MADE THAT DOMINATED I DONT CARE WHICH ONE U THOUGHT WAS MORE FUN WHICH DID BETTER IN JAPAN AND EUROPE THE FACT IS THE GENESIS BEAT THE SNES, THE PS1 BEAT THE64 and the ps2 destroyed the cube. i think the wii has the best chance of winning the gen and thats whyu i got one but personally im rooting for SONY!!!!!!!!!! Because i want games made for me not my grandma. i like that nintendo is experimenting and winnig but i really dont want the ds and the wii to be the new standard of gaming. I hope my mind changes though and i will remai supportive of nintendo. ( i know i just contradicted myelf and make no sense).

Like I said, you have no idea what you're talking about. I'm sorry, but....wow. My head hurts. I don't even know how to argue with something that makes so little sense.
I miss the good old days of skipping school and writing down codes just so you could go back to your save point in Mega Man.
"Dude, I beat Mike Tyson in Punch OUt!"
"No way! No you didn't!!"
"Yeah, I totally did!"
Probably FPS(but Tactical TPS is ok too) Or some good old 2D platformers, no 3D though or shooter platformers because they suck. I wonder why they cant just make a massive Platforming game in 2D that has amazing graphics.USSJAndrew
Buy a Wii. Super Paper Mario.
And What about VC, and XBLA, you should have a count both with and without. For a full comparison.
GundamGuy0
QFT, especially since Microsoft made such a big deal about the 360's XBLA.
[QUOTE="Maelkav"][QUOTE="AvIdGaMeR444"][QUOTE="Maelkav"]Your list is fair, but let's compare which games use a new, revolutionary controller.
XBOX 360
Um, nice. A wireless XBOX controller with 2 extra paddles
Wii
Well. You know what they say. Playing is believing.

Ok, maybe I should add Elebits to the list...but most software on Wii has shoddy, "unfinished" controls such as most Ubisoft ports as well as Tony Hawk, etc. Wii controller has potential, but 3rd parties need to utilize it much better than they have so far.
Agreed. But your thread is pointless. The 360 isn't 4 months old, and neither is the Wii. This thread is like comparing the economies of Japan and the United States in 1941. It doesn't matter "who wins". It is in the past.
Ok, my thread may be pointless (like 99.9% of system wars) but I figured that the ONLY FAIR way to compare the consoles was by their respective software timeframes.
You can't compare Wii and XBOX 360. No one can. They're on different playing fields. Neither is better or worse, just completely different. Besides, I don't care about the NUMBER of good titles. Seeing your list, if Wii and 360 were released simulaneously, I would STILL have bought a Wii because of Zelda:TP.

Get the Wii if you can't decide on either.
Even Sony - begrudgingly - called the Wii an "impulse buy".
