Lets just face it:

Nintendo will get the FPS scheme down to a T.

Wii owners will rejoice.

PS3/360 owners will lament and gripe, instead talking about how l33t Gears of War 15 will be in 45 years...

Now all the Wii needs is a reliable and sweet sword fighting game (which they are already developing several)

Bad idea, actually. The screen would be moving with ever twitch of your wrist. You would have to hold the wii-mote VEEEERY still to keep the reticule centered.

A small bounding box sounds the best right now, but it's the Wii, so they might come up with something totally new. Who knows?

I would think that it would be free.

My impression was that the current version was a "trial" because it wasnt' completed, not because the new "full" version would cost something. I could be completely wrong, though.

@Rosencrantz - VERY well put, and you are absolutely right. At first, I think that MS and Sony, along with a whole host of cynics, thought that the Wii would be a flop, because everyone thought that the Gamecube was a flop (It wasn't a FLOP. It simply sold less than it's competators)

Unfortunately, MS and Sony forgot that Nintendo had a flawless track record before the GC with NES, SNES, and the N64, three systems all in a row that dominated the market, not to mention its DOMINATION of the handheld market.

When you put it THAT way, it's not trolling. But when someone makes an entire post (several posts, actually) that exaggerate something's supposed weaknesses and totaly ignore it's strengths, then it is trolling.

I played the Wii myself and anyone that thinks FPS games will good on it are dead wrong. the console is geared towards little kids and not adults. Basically Wii will be another console with only good nintendo games. Wii is basically a gamecube with a new cotroller that doesn't work well for most games.rasstarman

The Wii controls work great on many games. And Sadness, Metroid 3, Manhunt 2, and RE4 are "adult" games by anyone's standards. Sounds to me like you're just another Wii flamer...

I was impressed that they included TurboGraphix (highly underrated for its day)

All said, though, I'm pretty sure that the selection of games has a lot to do with licensing issues, but with Sega working very closely with the Big N on several games, Saturn and DC on the Wii might not be too far-fetched (though DC game downloads would be too big for the Wii's drive, I'm guessing)

GS has downed a lot of Wii games. I've seen them bash a lot of top-notch games while giving some mediocre 360 games a nice, high rating.

I won't call foul yet, but the trend is undeniable.

FPS on the Wii is great right? People need to get over this controller sucks BS. I play FPS on both the PC and 360 and they all play well. I have played FarCry and COD3 on the Wii and frankly they sucked. The only person that i would see having a hard time aiming with a controller is if you had Parkinson disease. Once the game is programmed well their is no problem. Deihmos
