@malokevi For #2, if enough people simply stop buying games based on how ridiculously expensive retail prices are, those systems will not last long. Neither Sony nor Microsoft can expect high sales by ignoring consumer needs and expectations. This isn't simply "bitching and whining", this is backlash towards a new used-game policy which is not regarded as standard for consoles.
$52 pre-owned activation fee? I certainly hope that isn't a flat fee, because there would be no way people would pay that much for a 2-3 yr old game. Plus, if this "compromise" is really Microsoft's plan, it completely crushes the idea of "trading/selling/lending" games to friends. That will not go over well. Consumers will speak with their wallets and in the case of Microsoft, they will see a lack of wallets coming their way.
I can see the dislike for day one DLC, and even DLC in general. But let's face it, it wouldn't still exist if people did not continue to pay for it. Us consumers are just as greedy for more content as studios are for profit, DLC is just another sign of the times.
