What? Development on a game announced 4 years ago is on hiatus? I never would've guessed... Well, I really do hope it eventually makes its way to a console, whether that is PS3 or PS4 because I'm looking forward to playing it. Ico and Shadow of the Colossus were spectacular games.

Wow, this is great news! Not that I play many games from other regions, but giving us the ability to expand our games library to a worldwide scope is definitely a fantastic step to take.

When moving, I can go week or two without getting internet re-installed.

When I was younger, I would go with a friend up to his cabin and bring a ps2, no internet up there.

Nowadays, I have brought my PS3 to other houses a fair number of times without connecting it to internet (just playing Rock Band).

There are any number of "real-world" scenarios that Microsoft's 24-hr check-in approach would be harmful to gamers.
