There are still a few new releases every once in a while I think, but for the most part your stuck with the current library of UMD movies. They're great if you can buy them for cheap, like at a sale or off of Ebay.

You could read the GS review...

Its a fantastic game. You'll get the most out of it only if you've played other MGS titles, but its still a great game even if you haven't played one before. The game has tons of replay value, and should keep you hooked for a long time.

[QUOTE="baddog121390"][QUOTE="TheManOfChoice"][QUOTE="baddog121390"][QUOTE="TheManOfChoice"][QUOTE="slinkysi"]

I just saw in game footage for this game and it totally blew me away, the lighting and physics look amazing! This totally destroys anything on any console!! Now i'm a cow but i have to admit nothing on PS3 comes close to this graphically.

Does anyone think that this gen of consoles will be able to match this level of impressive graphics seen on PC?

haols

Yes, there was a thread here a couple days back comparing MGS4 and Uncharted to Crysis, and they weren't as far off as you'd think.

That was a horrible comparison. Crysis destroys MGS4 in every department.

Why was it a horrible comparison exactly?

Because they used very old pics of Crysis (dating around one year back), while they used MGS4 pics from the target videos. You want to see a true comparison? Here:

As you can see, the actual game looks mediocre thanks to the PS3's small ram supplies. Textures aren't too great. /:

The people who made the comparison were too ignorant to use screens like the following to show Crysis:

Just look at the difference, and before fanboys start rampaging about "but teh crysis CGI..." No the last pic isn't CGI. The real game uses IN-GAME true motion-blur.

 I won't argue that MGS4 looks as good as Crysis (Because it probably won't), but that picture comparison is useless. The inside of a dumpster? I don't think the developers are going to perfect the inside of an object that most players probably won't see...

I've never played Killzone 1, but I have played the PSP version of Killzone: Liberations. Liberations was a very well designed game that worked perfectly on the PSP, and showed that the devs had some talent. I don't know how Killzone 2 will be, but after playing Killzone: Liberations I think we'll be pleasantly surprised.

The battery shouldn't have died if the PSP was actually off. My guess is that you aren't turning it off correctly. You have to hold the power switch for about 5 seconds to actually turn off the PSP. Hopefully you knew this, though. ;)

The problem I see is that PS3 helps Blu-ray, but Blu-ray doesn't really seem to help the PS3.

 Blu-ray will probably win compared to HD-DVDs, but DVDs are still the dominate format and probably will be for some time.

DS Lite = Portable GAMING System

PSP = Portable MEDIA System

is up to you...portable GAMING system or portable MEDIA system, i prefer having a GAMING system, or

atleast thats what many people wants....

Ipik_Fenris

I think the PSP is both the media and gaming system, though. It has plenty of great games, and most really are not just ports. It would be hard to argue that Daxter, Sphyon Filter, Loco Roco, Killzone, Socom, Ace Combat X, Lumines, Exit, Tekken, Metal Gear Solid, etc. aren't great games to play.

If one takes a good look at the PSP and ignores all of the bias facts against it, the PSP really is a great hand held system. A lot of people will tell you that the games on it would play better on an actual PS2, and while that it true in some cases, you can't carry around a PS2 in your pocket. Or listen to music, watch videos, store photos, and browse the web for that matter. ;)

Heh, I chuckled. It was an OK ad. Nintendo has done similar ones with the "Touch it" line, so its not that out-there. =P

I have spent about $500 on all of my stuff. 6 games, 2 movies, 2 one GB mem sticks (One of them was cheap and broke), 1 case. Worth every penny.
