Let me put it this way:

How did the PS2 last generation become number 1? Simple, it had the most games. But, why did it have the most games? Because it sold the most? But then what came first, the games or the sales? The answer is that Sony paid developers a lot of cash to snag important exclusives. However, that strategy is becoming harder to do since games are so expensive these days. Developers are starting to turn down the offers, since they feel that more money can be made by not keeping it exclusive to one console! So unless one system, such as the PS3 perhaps, totally fails then most games will be multiplatform games.

 Hopefully that explains something.

By the way, what most people were trying to say is that just because a system sells better doesn't mean that the console is actually better. It could actually be better, but its mostly personal preference. =)

No, I feel that sales only USED to matter. In this day and age of gaming, most developers are making their games multiplatform anyway. Gaming is becoming bigger and more expensive, and putting a game out on as many systems as possible just makes more money.

Unless one system does absolutely horrible or something, most games will probably be multiplatform. Only first party stuff, or games on the Wii, will be unique to one system.

Before the PS3's dreadful launch it had many top-of-the-line 3rd party exclusives. Because of it's lackluster sales and fanbase it's lost many of them. Doesn't seem like much of a coincidence.

Listen to a couple of podcasts then. It's no secret that the day of 3rd party exclusives is gone.

[QUOTE="OceanLeet"]The PSP is indeed underrated. The games ROCK. The sales are actually good. I think what's holding it back is the fact that it's $200 and you have to spend an extra $50 on Duo cards and $40 for games. That's over $300 with tax for the basic setup and one game. Expensive for a handheld.psycotictaratua

During holiday season '06, the PSP was outsold by Nintendo's popular console...the Game Boy Advance.

The PSP occasionally outsells the Wii in Japan. Sounds pretty decent to me.

The PSP is a great handheld, its reputation was just hurt because it had no games for the first year or so. Now it has tons of great games with a library that can certainly match the DS, but no one seems to care or notice.

I agree with the TC. Just because something sells well doesn't mean its better.

Even in video games, where one console can get more support than another because of sales. Now more than ever games are going to be mostly multiplatform games, so in reality most people will all be playing the same games regardless of the console he or she owns.

I know from personal experience that I enjoy my PSP a lot more than my DS, but which one sells better? The DS of course.

Paper Mario looks good, but Pokemon? I think I'll pass on that. (Although I know that millions of others won't pass on that) =P

I use it every once in a while. It's nice to have, and certainly nothing to complain about. Besides, with the internet browser you can store flash games on your PSP. That is reason enough to use the internet browser. =)

Ace Combat X

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops

Daxter

Killzone: Liberations

Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror

Those are some of the nicest PSP games out there. Tekken: DR, Burnout, Loco Roco, Exit, and the Socom games will probably please anyone with a PSP, too.

Zelda really needs to change. Maybe not like this, but still....TP was a huge letdown and I don't want to see another Zelda like it. We can be fairly certain that this is all a hoax, but it does provide some awesome ideas nonetheless. I just hope Nintendo realizes that Zelda is getting old before its too late.

Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops

 Daxter

 Ace Combat X

Those were the three big ones that made me get a PSP, but Socom and Killzone also convinced me to purchase one. Certainly haven't regreted it at all.
