Hey guys,

I been looking for a cheap upgrade from my old x1950pro and I saw that 8800gts go for around £20-£30 on ebay. What I want to know if I buy a GPU brand like BFG & EVGA, will they still offer 10 years warranty even if the card gets sold to another person? Or does the card has to stay with original owner in order for the warranty to apply?

Also does warranty get void if a person overclocks the GPU? I heard BFG & EVGA warranty still applies even if the card gets overclcoked but I am not sure if the info is reliable.

Ty

Good built only problem is that you are gonna spend £600 on a dead socket lol. Personally I would go for an AMD AM3 build, should cost about the same and performence would be better plus you get more future proofing. Also 8GB of RAM is a little bit overkill, 6GB should be more than enought. Might be a good idea two wait two months for ATI HD5000 series to be released, the prices of the current cards might drop a little bit.

[QUOTE="Mitjastiskovski"]

I don't get it why everyone is hyping this game so much. I know that the first starcraft was a big hit and the second will also be but when I watched the gameplay of the first and the new game it looks nothing special too me. Just an ordionary RTS.

And yes I have never played any starcraft games and probably never will. :D

Oom_Gert

All though I myself is a big StarCraft fan and follower, I must admit that I too am a bit cautious of SC2. Sooooo many of my all time favorite games series have been raped and changed over the years that I can't but help feel worried that Blizz might have done the same to SC2. And yes I know we're talking about Blizzard but we must remember that we're talking about Activision here too.

Still I can't wait to finally play the game and either put my fears or anticipation to rest. The reason why everyone is so hyped up is because for some of us SC was more than just a game. In it's time and still today some SC1 was a RTS like no other, they way the 3 teams played so different and yet fitted into the same game was something amazing. Some other devs still have to learn that changing the name and a slight different look doesn't change a team into something else. If other are like me, SC1 ruled over my life at some stage. We would LAN hours, no days on end just to go home for a few days and do it again. We created maps, talked and develop strats at school and looking back it was an absolute obsession. So I think many are hyped to see if SC2 can live up to the deity that SC1 became for some folks. And also (for me anyway) to see if it can rekindle some of the magic and nostalgia SC1 had and evolve into the modern age ad bring us more countless sleepless nights.

StarCraft might have been a very good game but you are right to lower your hype since SC2 will never live up to the hype. No matter how good it is people think that it will have the same impact as before when infact it won't simply because it will be a very similar game and people already know what to expect.

As for other people in these forum responding to my comments quite aggressively, seriously you guys need to get a life, it's a game. To me the game looks ordionary and looks similar to most RTS around today. No need to get aggressive over a GAME....

Nothing new really, every PC gamer knows that consoles do hold back game engine since most of them are designed with consoles in mind. Only game engines designed for PC's can push the limits of hardware currently available. Even crysis when it came out for PC's was a beast but now it's not anymore, mainstream GPU can play at high settings quite easily.

In September this year ATI will release next-gen GPU the 5000 series and they will walk all over crysis. I don't think there will be alot of games that will push the ATI 5000 series until next-gen consoles arrive. Only ones I can think of is Crysis 2, Doom 4 and maybe Stalker.

Thank Bush/Blair for their deaths. I still don't know why the troops are even there.

Pretty sad, soo many lives lost for nothing since we are going to pull out in a few years achieving nothing.

Even sadder is that the number will probably double before we pull out.

You should have waited. You could have gotten the same card cheaper, since all the old GPU will drop in price a little bit when the HD5850/70 comes out. Or you should have just bought a new ATI GPU since the performence would be much better. Some reports show that HD5870 is as powerfull as HD4870X2.

But I would not worry about it gtx275 is a good card so you should be fine.
