Of course, you just replace "God" with "Supreme being" or similar.

Google probably won't be much help; I've tried using it for this sort of thing before, and the end result wasn't very impressive.

They can believe what they want, but that doesn't make it true. Same goes for evolution. But still, I believe in evolution, since it's a very good theory. Many people are against evolution, because it forces them to see themselves as animals, and for some reason, they find this thought repulsing. Just because you are an animal, doesn't mean that you are a savage or a damn dog.

Belief doesn't make something true; consistent empirical evidence does.

In all the time I've been at secondary school I have not witnessed a single fight. This is the sheltered life you live if you go to a grammar school.

You cant have something from nothing; its a fundamental concept of science...

Law of Conservation of Mass states that matter is neither created nor deystroyed, only transferred.

EXPLAIN THAT, EVOLUTIONISTS! How was the universe created, then?

camel2on64

Can you please explain what this has to do with the evolution of organisms?

17 and 6' 4. I win.

Seriously though, there probably isn't anything, as height is controlled by the pituitary gland in the brain, which moniters the rate of mitosis cell diviosion. You would have to find a way of changing the amount of hormone it releases, something science is currently unable to do.

Thanks for the links, nuke, the funniest things I've read all day. Why is the top one there? it has nothing to do with intelligent design; it's just a rant against Dawkins. I've covered irreducible complexity already, which leaves the one about radioactive decay.there is no agument against whythere isthe coherence among many different dating methods pointing to an old earth and life on earth for a long time - for example: radioactivity, tree rings, ice cores, corals, supernovas - from astronomy, biology, physics, geology, chemistry and archeology? These methods are based on quite distinct fields of inquiry and are quite diverse, yet manage to arrive at quite similar dates. (This is not answered by saying that there is no proof of uniformity of radioactive decay. The question is why all these different methods give the same answers.)

Dude, this would work really well as an allegorical short story about the conflict between science and religion. protectors equal religion; people who want to explore equal science.

I knew this would happen.

"Theory" has two meanings: a synonym for a hypothesis, or in a scientific context, a hypothesis that has been backed up by empirical evidence and withstood years of attempts at destruction. As evolution is clearly the latter, it is as much of a fact as gravity.
