Within an odd wormhole I find these words being posted before whatever preceeds them. This is Sunday Ramblings!
Hello Gamespot, it's me again with very little to talk about. I have been playing stuff recently, mostly revisiting my roots as a point and click adventure enthusiast. When I was younger and primarily a PC gamer, I played a lot of games from a developer called Humongous Entertainment which made a ton of point and click games that were aimed at my age group at the time though I did play soem meant for a higher age group. I hope I'm not the only person in the world who remembers Humongous Entertainment, but I probably am, who can say? I never did play many of ther games considered to be the clas sics, but now I have a chance, I'm happy in the part where I have had a chacne to play it. On a somewhat related note I also downloaded Indigo Prophecy yesterday which is sort of in the same genre but with some more varied gameplay. Unfortunately the gameplay is also kind of broken but I have been intrigued enough by where the story has been going so far.
I'm pretty sure some of us have been intrigued by what game announcements have been made lately, probably the most head turning one being the announcement of Final fantasy XIII-2. This did surprise me in the sense of how soon it was announced, it did sell 6 million units on both platforms but I though a sequel would be happening in another two or three years minimum if at all. I certainly would like to see where the story goes from where the previous left off, of course there really aren't many spoilers yet, so far a trailer showing the ending of XIII and then a few seconds of Lightning in armor along with some other character behind her and then the two engage in a clash of swords. For some reason the other character reminds me of theDark Knight version of Cecil. Well the game is apparently coming out in Winter of this year in Japan and possibly some time sooner in NA, so it won't be too long of a wait thankfully... For me anyway.
Speaking of Square, Deus Ex: Human Revolution is apparently rumored with delay. I don't know how if it will happen, but I hope it doesn't, I heard a rumor that it will be delayed to spring of next year. It probably won't be too much of a let down considering there is other stuff coming out this year, but I'm sure people will be sort of laughing at me since it was listed at #4 in my most anticipated games list.If anything at least it will be released outside of Japan...
Linking to yet another vent, the news that was released two days ago that The Last Story is apparently won't be released outside of Japan. Well for me at least it seems there might be a chance since David Yarnton said that it was only not being released in Europe. I would be pretty displeased if it doesn't get released anywhere else, but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised considering that Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey probably didn't sell all that well. Well not much news is out yet, I can have some hope that a localization will happen, it happened with Arc Rise Fantasia so why not right? That's the optimism I have to offer anyway.

Sunday Ramblings: The Green Bee in the Cape
by Myviewing on Comments
Want some saving advice? Put your money where your mouth is and you have more security than a bank. This is Sunday Ramblings!
Well people, there's not much happening. This past week has literally had the events of almost nothing happen. I suppose one thing I can give a shoutout to is Good Old Games, a site similar to Steam but with more of a focus on old-school games. Big case in point is that it actually plays the King's Quest games a lot better than the Collection version on Steam does.
Thankfully for something else to add, I saw The Green Hornet today. In general amuch better start to 2011, obviously after having seen Season of the Witch. I never did have much knowledge about the film serial or what other media its source material is based off of although for some reason I think it must be overall faithful to the main concept of the character. The overall plot is that a man named Britt Reid, son of James Ried Los Angeles publisher of The Daily Sentinel who all of a sudden finds himself forced out of his playboy slacking life when he learns of James' death one day. Having no one else to turn to, he befriends one of his remaining servants, Kato. When the two one day end up finding themselves in the crime fighting sphere through certain events,Britt takes up the identity of The Green Hornet with Kato at his side to act as the city's antiheros to save the day. The story is as you might have guessed an action comedy as well as a buddy cop film, and it does manage to deliver in these areas. The action manages to move things nicely and swiftly wheneverthey happen, although there are points where it might seem to be a bit up close too often. I'd call the acting overall pretty decent, I will admit to the common complaint of how Seth Rogan didn't exactly sell his performance as that of a crime fighter, but then again it was probably intentional considering his character.Maybe ifa sequel is ever madehe'll make the attempt to put a more serious face for the role. Of course if plans for a sequel ever do follow, that will be a portion of the plot to address considering the ending. I haven't seen the film in 3D but at this point I have an idea of what films supporting 3D would be like and I think it is safe to say it's nothing all that special, so I don't think it's really worth paying extra for. Overall an enjoyable film that delivers the goods in terms of what was advertised, though not much more. Just don't go in with Iron Man 1 or 2 expectations and you won't be dissapointed.
Speaking of superheros, The Cape. A few weeks agothe show debuted on NBC and it's pretty cool. I can't exactly review it since it only just had its pilot episode and encore half, but new episodeswill be showingevery Monday evening. I'm enjoying what I've seen so far, do hope to see this series go far. Another shout out I thought I'd do since it does deserve some attention I think.

Sunday Ramblings: The First Week
by Myviewing on Comments
2011 is finally upon us and it's time for resolutions. Mine? The same as every year, find one for next year. This is Sunday Ramblings!
So that's a happy new year to everybody. 2011 is off to a pretty nice start and as you might have guessed I did skip last week since I couldn't think of a whole lot to talk about. I have some things today though and they are still a bit pointless I'll admit.
College has started up for me again, this time is special because once I manage to pass these last two cla sses, I will finally be able to graduate. Sweet, after that it's just a matter of finding a job and I hope to find something that I will be able to survive off of. It's a pretty exciting time for me, it will all come to pass April this year.
For what I've been playing lately I have been using my new laptop quite a bit, I've managed to rediscover some of my favorite PC games that I played a lot of as a kid and thankfully in time for this college semester gotten over my addiction for Knights of the Old Republic, yeah the game was really really fun. Haven't gotten too much homework yet but that's the be expected with the first week or so and I have managed to enjoy myself as well.
I also saw two movies this week: True Grit and Season of the Witch. True Grit was excellent, I'll admit I'm not the first person to talk to when it comes to westerns and this is only the second Coen Brothers film I ever saw, but this movie was really special and overall a lot of fun. Not to mention the acting was just superb as well, in part because of how convincing and knockout good Hailee Steinfeld was. Not to mention the acting and reverence to the setting made the film that much more enjoyable. I can't say how it is over the original because I actually did see the John Wayne original a few years back but my memory of it is pretty fuzzy at this point. Either way a great movie I would easily reccomend to anyone.
On the other end of the spectrum unfortunatley, Season of the Witch. No I'm not talking about Halloween III, this is actually a supernatural thriller about a handful of knights who must exorcise a Witch who was apparently the cause of the Black Plague. Sound cool so far? How about adding in the fact that the aspiration of the story is overbloated and never really works? How about calling it basically a road trip movie crossed over with a period drama? How about adding in really huge plot holes? For example, when did it ever snow in the Middle East? What's more the story seems to be taking an attempt at many different philosophic questionings and it never really seems to have the time frame or willingness to take stabs at them. In fact the ending of the film had me asking, "Who wrote this movie?! M. Night Shyamalan?" Probably a bit too much credit for Mr. Shamalamadingdong, but I was still wondering that. It's not all downhill though, the scenery isn't too bad and the acting while it isn't spectacular isn't really ever all that painful. Also if you go in expecting to see a fun action movie like I did to some degree, there's another dose of dissapointment because the CGI is more blatant than what I saw in the trailer for Twilight Saga: New Moon back in the day, and I'm guessing the same guy who did the camera work for the first Alien Vs. Predator movie also did this because of the shoddy camerawork. Which I mean anyway that whenever there's action on the screen it's either too dark or too close up and when he actually does get it right, it's over in three seconds. So yeah, I was kind of dissapointed with this one, but I didn't exactly have very huge hopes to begin with anyway, so I survived.
That's a pretty weak way to get started with the film year of 2011 for me since I really look forward to it so much with Green Hornet coming out this week and just a lot of other stuff to look forward to in the coming year. I'm sure you get the idea at this point. Things will start to really pick up once we've hit further into 2011 I'm pretty sure of.

My most anticipated 2011 games and 2010 in general
by Myviewing on Comments
Hey people, as for the last part of 2010, I have finally placed a top ten list for my most anticipated games of 2011 as per request by grand total of two people. Thanks for letting your voice be heard.
There are three games that I am looking forward to, but these are ones that I can't really tell if they will manage to be part of the mainstream 2011 release. Monado: Beginning of the World is supposed to have a 2011 release in the U.S., but so far there's no word on when it will be and for some reason I can feel as though it might get a release date in early 2012 for some reason. Hopefully it won't be too late. Dragon Quest X, there is almost no info out on it yet, maybe we'll see a teaser at E3? The Last Story I hope will come out to the U.S. in 2011, but considering Mistwalker's last two games (Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey) weren't exactly big sellers in America, it makes me a bit worried that there won't be a localization due to them getting an idea that American audiences wouldn't buy the game. There's my order of pessimism, I hope I'm wrong.
I won't be listing 3DS games because at this point there's enough games in the library for me to make an entire list dedicated to just those… In fact I'll actually do that.
3DS
Kid Icarus: Uprising – The new Kid Icarus will hopefully show what the 3DS is capable of and be able to offer a Kid Icarus experience everyone will enjoy.
Ace Combat 3D – Ace Combat does work on handhelds as shown by the PSP and with the 3DS showing it will obviously have a graphical update, Ace Combat will be cool to play on the go in 3D.
Dead or Alive: Dimensions – Mmmm… Pervy fighting fun in 3D.
Resident Evil: Revelations – The more story based of the two from a really cool series.
Resident Evil: The Mercenaries – Destroying zombies and playing from the RE4&5 perspective in 3D, oh yeah!
Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle – Professor Layton is awesome whether you're talking about the puzzling gameplay or the fantastic combination of puzzle solving and story along with great artistic cutscenes.
Dragonball (working title) – Not much is known about it yet, but hopefully this will be Dragonball: Origins 3 or something like that.
Final Fantasy (Working title) – What 3D offering will the series be able to conceive?
Contra (working title) – Contra goes 3D people! You'll be in pain trying to beat the game, but now you'll really be able to see it from many different angles.
Eternal Eden – An old-school RPG in 3D famous for being a retail game based on RPG Maker VX now gets enhancements to make a great game for those who haven't played it.
So there's a category for the 3DS, now onto the ten mainstream games for this year I'd like:
10. Ace Combat: Assault Horizon
It's about time that Project Aces finally got to work on another Ace Combat game, that's what I have to say on this part. What will hopefully be really cool is the introduction of helicopters and the new setting of the real world Earth. As of yet there's probably not much to say about any future changes in the formula, but that hopefully won't be a problem for many since the prior games have been so cool in offering an arcade experience that allows for some of the best air fights ever thought possible on the home consoles.
9. Mario Sports Mix
A compilation of Mario sports games featuring arcade gameplay that makes usual non sports enthusiasts be able to enjoy the game as well as online multiplayer with four different sports, Mario will now have a sports game that will hopefully be able to provide a great deal of fun for Mario sports fans everywhere. Not to mention Mario characters going up against Final Fantasy characters like Cactaur and Moogle make me hopeful that they'll be there to provide some variety in the character department. Casual or not, Sport Mix is sure to have wide appeal.
8. Lord of the Rings: War in the North
A new game into the Tolkien megaverse is actually quite a step forward as it's expected to be the first in the series to receive the M rating. Taking place in the background of the books and films, and playing as a fully customizable hero will certainly make for a really cool traverse into Middle Earth again. The dialog is also supposed to be built in a similar structure to the Mass Effect games, which will most likely mean several branching story lines. With any luck and effeort, War in the North may be the best action game since the franchise's heydays on the last gen consoles (Battle for Middle Earth is good too just to say).
7. Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
I really got into Star Wars: The Clone Wars this year and the lego games are easy but fun and simplistic romps into a Lego version of ones favorite franchises. The concept isn't totally dead for me just yet, I'm not sure how long it will be before the Lego concept gets old but I'll easily be able to enjoy playing as my favorite characters from the show to just blow up more brick.
6. Shogun 2: Total War
The Creative Assembly really knows how to make a strategy game with a lot to tfocus on without making it very complicated. Not only with a neat setting but also a re-introduction of heroic generals and mythology based warriors as well as a battle engine supporting 56k soldiers on a single battlefield, there may not be much of a difference between Shogun 2 and prior Total War games but there is a good chance most people won't care and just end up having a ton of fun with the game anyway.
5. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Elder Scrolls IV is an awesome game even to this day. Obviously with their intent to support Fallout 3, Bethesda had to work on that game in question. Now that the project has pretty much come and gone, Skyrim is ready to explore for this year and hopefully to the delight of Elder Scrolls fans everywhere. Not sure what the story will be like yet, but knowing a Bethesda game it will easily have a ton of extra and cool stuff to do t hat will easily create a game well worth a $60 purchase.
4. Deus Ex: Human Revolution
I have gained interest in checking out the Deus Ex games as soon as I can, Human Revolution will hopefully be a cool entry point just to see how it fits in with the others. Some cool gameplay and focus on four combat types will surely add some variety. I also anticipate the visuals considering how it looks like a futuristic version of the Renaissance period and I would like to see the story's take on the human concepts it will be grappling with.
3. L.A. Noire
Red Dead Redemption was able to remind us why we like Rockstar Games so much, so seeing a new IP is certainly a great new addition. Just imagine how cool it will be to traverse 1947 Los Angeles with the legitimate feeling of a detective-noir film, be absorbed in the ambient smoke, moral ambiguity, and music with actual cla ss. And when you're not, you'll be fighting gangs and solving murder mysteries in such a wide open world that will support a really cool story as well.
2. Mass Effect 3
Naturally after playing through a game that only managed to make a really good game 10 times more epic, seeing the ending to this trilogy hopefully means something really climatic for the Mass Effect universe. Hopefully this won't be the last one in the series either considering how the alien races and worlds are never able to get old even after continuously visiting them. Only thing that's pretty weak is how late in the year Mass Effect 3 will be released. Maybe I'll try and substitute off of Dragon Age II until then? We'll see.
1. Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Call me a fanboy if you must. I cannot wait for this new adventure and I feel safe in assuming that there will be some new changes that will help the series' formual take advantage of the Wii Motion Plus. I'm also anticipant to see what the world of Skyloft will be like and the apparent prequel status to Ocarina of Time that it has been given. Also a depart from dungeon to overworld will hopefully mean a game more focused on combat to show what players can really do with Wii Motion Plus controls. So finally the successor to Twilight Princess is finally being made and we'll get to see if it manages to lvie up to the same pedigree that its predecessor had. Either way, I'm up for the game and hence it being my most anticipated game this year.
So here you are people. Thankfully it won't be as much of a spending year as this year was for me, but I'm sure it will be different for others. Of course I do have some games i haven't listed on here as well: I'll be getting Lost in Shadow when it debuts in a few days, Pokemon Black/White once I get a 3DS, hopefully the Tomb Raider reboot will be good, and Dissidia 012 and the Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together remake will definately be good additions to the PSP's library if only tohelp us wait until the supposed Successor.
Just as a forwarning, I'llprobably be skipping this week's Sunday Ramblings unless I have something to mention that might seem somewhat interesting since i basically have gotten everything interesting I could add into this blog in particular. I might but we'll have to see if it turns out that way. I hope everybody enjoyed 2010, it was a pretty good year, probably the most epic in gaming since 2001. Good stuff did happen as well like Toy Story 3, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and several long awaited sequels we've been hoping for. Of course it wasn't perfect like any, obviosuly the Ground Zero Controversy was pretty infuriating for me, replacing my car put a huge dent in my savings, and of course the sheer amount of pain sitting through the travesty that was The Last Airbender.
Also just remembered I'll have to put up my Steam account for anybody who wants to add me, what else did you think my username would be? :P
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Myviewing/
I'll put it up with my other profiles later on.
And onward we now only await another hour and a half until the beggining of the year 2011. Enjoy this second to last year we have left folks!

Sunday Ramblings: The Christmas Hangover
by Myviewing on Comments
If Christmas is the season to be jolly, is that why January ends up so dreary? This is Sunday Ramblings!
We all know it was coming people. The reason that people love and or hate December so much that is Christmas, and I had to spend all day with my family being jolly.
For some interesting stories, my mom got my dad his own Xbox360 bundled with Kinect, the bundle with Kinect and the new model of 360s. And if you happen to see a guy by the name of LikedGinger3258, that would be him. Yes the profile names randomly selected are funny aren't they? So this actually managed to give me a chance to play with the device along with pretty much everyone else in my family, we played Kinect Adventures!the game that comes bundled with Kinect. It's a compilation of mini games obviously but I found it to be a really fun experience I have to say. Fun though I also have to admit tiring because it really makes you have to get up and move more than people can claim the Wii ever did. In fact I know people have made claims about destroying stuff with their Wii remotes, I came closer to destroying my family's coffee table than I did every even denting anything with a Wii remote. I think my favorite game in it would be the rafting game though I also like this one cart hopping game that you have to jump on in order to build up speed. My mom also got him another game, Kinect Joy Ride though I haven't had a chance to see what it's like yet. She said she was looking for a boxing game of some sorts, but I can't say which one it was since she didn't know either. Probably one of the great things about Kinect is how it pretty much seems to be its own platform at this rate since it's having games built specificly for it. My dad can now enjoy 360 games as well as being able to start moving more. So it was nice for him obviously.
Wondering what I got? As we speak, I am now typing on my very new laptop! This one I got is actually new unlike the used one I had a few years back and it has plenty of up to date specs and memory. I recently decided to take advantage of this, and great news I'm on Steam! It's a pretty cool service that I'm not sure how I ever missed out on before. I was a PC gamer before going to consoles, but frequent run ins with viruses caused me to track away quite a bit. Now if I can just be careful enough with this computer, I can run some great PC games again! So yes people that makes me happy by default :) What makes me even happier is the number of deals that are available on Steam, I yesterday in fact bought the Star Wars Collection for $49.99 which is 50% off the typical price. I bought other stuff too and for very good prices I can't get anywhere else. I know it's pretty much a shameless plug at this point, but it is a really sweet service. My only real complaint so far is that it seems that you can't access your games if you don't have internet access because my dad had a brief moment of time. Hopefully I won't have that problem too often, but that's just what I've been through.
That's also a bit of what I was doing, the first game I installed was Knights of the Old Republic or KoToR. I've always wanted to play this game and I'm greatful to do so at last becauseit is so addictingly cool. It takes place 4000 years before the films so it has its own distinct Star Wars feel. I've only recently beat the Dantooine planet so I'll see how it progress' from there. There's a ton of other games on there as well like the Jedi Knight series and Empire at War, by the way I would not recommend Clone Wars: Republic Heroes because the game was a piece of@$$ on the Wii and I'm pretty sure it's not any better on the PC looking like the same game overall. Unfortunatley it comes with the bundle so I guess I didn't have a choice. I could go on all day about how cool my first experience with Steam is, but I'm sure at this point it's something that needs to be seen to be believed. Merry Christmas to me!
Those are a few of the experiences I've had over this 2010th Christmas, it's sad to say there's only 2 left :P.
For personal things, I also beat Golden Sun: Dark Dawn yesterday. All I can say about the ending:CAMELOT YOU LAZY (^*&**&^%&^*t%r^&FERS GET TO WORK ON THAT SEQUEL ALREADY!!!!!! Okay, I'm under composure now. Other than that, one of the best games I've played this year. I still hope Reggie wasn't lying about the 100k need to break even on DS games, Dark Dawn has already sold about 293k units as I'm typing so that would be enough to make money by that logic but I'm not sure if it will encourage Camelot anytime soon unless the sales manage to continue picking up.
Speaking of, I'm writing again this time as I might suggest a Golden Sun fanfic. I've been over to fanfiction.net and I was inspired by a guy named MasterofReality who seems to be inactive these days. He gave the Golden Sun universe more of tone similar to other works but deepened the story in a time when Golden Sun 3 only seemed like a dream. Dark Dawn may be canon, but the wonders of fanfiction are limitless... At least when done properly. I hope that by the tiem I actually finish something up it will be more enjoyable than my previous works in the olden days.
There you go people, my Christmas contribution and I'd actually like to ask for something in return: Decide which of the two I should do for a December 31st blog. I have two planned, Top Ten most anticipated games of 2011 and my End Begins and the Possibilities it Brings Part 2 blog I have planned. I'll do both eventually soon, just want to decide which one to do first. Just leave a comment if you're interested and I'll get to work on whatever gets more comments before the set date.

Sunday Ramblings: A Legacy is Born
by Myviewing on Comments
With great power comes great responsibility. Though I'm sure I know enough people who would like to have thatbe their job. This is Sunday Ramblings!
Well people I have gotten home from theaters and as promised, I have seen Tron: Legacy! This was the last film I really wanted to see this year, maybe there's others I'm somewhat interested in, but you get the idea. So let's start off with some exposition shall we?
As human beings fascinated by film, chances are we are all indoctrinated by Disney at one point in our lives. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of how. Some of us may have grown up on the cla ssic films, became fascinated with newer ones, some however have dabbled in the more obscure parts of Disney. One of those frontiers is the milestone in computer generation filming that is TRON. Released in 1982, TRON is isn't really a work of Sci-fi widely known for its story but being one of the first films of its kind to use computer generated imaging. It in fact inspired John Lasseter of Pixar fame to see the potential within this subject. Whether or not the story was anything deep or too ahead of its time or anything of the sort is quite up for debate, I have my own theories but that's another day. While it may not have achieved the same level of notoriety as other Sci-fi franchises, it did garner enough to inspire its own dedicated fanbase be it for its distinct art st yle andintriguing premise and allow for fan premises such as games and books and some demand for a sequel as well.
Moving forward 28 years, it's happened. Whether or not TRON really did deserve a sequel or need one is something anyone could argue for days on end, but what isn'tdebatable is the number of possiblities open for what the new standard of 3D brings and the huge advancements made in CGI over the past three decades. Now it's all a question of just how much is the film worth seeing?
In an attempt to remain spoiler free of either film, Tron: Legacy takes place 27 years after the original in which Sam Flynn, the son of Kevin Flynn of the original, is haunted for many years about thedisappearance of his father. One day, Alan Bradley pays Sam a visit saying that he had been paged a message from Kevin that he was still alive and needed help. In order to do so, Sam visits the old arcade that his father ran and finds everything that is needed in order to bring him into The Grid, the very cyber world itself. That's what I have for the story and I don't really want to spoil too much of it.
Visually, I really don't think I can do any justice to what the film looks like. It's been 28 years and the budget is more than 10 times bigger than the original, the sky is the limit. The light cycles you may have loved are back and now are now longer restricted to 90 degree angles. Not only this, but entirely new vehicles have been introduced and make for some really neat action sequences from start to finish. Also the 3D is a pretty nice tough, it adds to the video-game feel behind the Grid universe. If you're curious, the 3D is only used in between the start and finish which takes place in the Grid so the 3D isn't used too much to the point of it being a gimmicky feel. Overall I'd say it's a professional use of 3D probaly on the same level as last year's Avatar.
The acting in the 1982 original was exceptional, Legacy in comparison is actually not too bad.A numberof actors from the original reprise their roles in this new film. Jeff Bridges has aged considerably well, though I personally don't think he really qualifies too much for his other role. Garrett Hedlund has come quite a way from Troy and isn't too bad of a new actor, though I'd say Olivia Wilde is probably the one to provide a consistantly good performance when it's none of the older actors.
Finally onto the overall story. As said before, the original isn't exactly known for being a giant leap forward in terms of storytelling, and to a certain degree neither is this sequel. That's not to say however that it's a poorly told story that doesn't have any depth, if anything it's moreso a gathering of interesting but half-baked ideas. Anyone who's a die hard fan of the original will also spot a healthy amount of fan service pretty much around every corner. There is still the fascinating God-Human relationship of Users and programs persistant, but also a new element that with enough thought couldbring up some new questions of the Grid and possibly some new story elements as well. It's also because of this problem with the story that throughout a great deal of the film, the story ends up getting lost in its action and glitz but not to the point of losing its focus entirely. Probably the only other problem I really have with the film is that the ending is unfortunately rather anti-climatic and unresolved in some areas. I don't know if it's supposed to be this way or if nobody bothered trying to iron out the ending, but this is an unfortunate part to what has been a sty lish adrenaline pumpingadventure.
At the end of the day, would Irecommend Tron: Legacy to anyone? Despite its problems, I actually would. If you're a fan of the original, the only quesion is really, why did you bother with this review? If you ever wanted a sequel, you got it now go see it. If not, then you know what to do... and I hope it doesn't involve IMDB. For everyone else, I would also recommend checking out the original if only to have a base idea of what the Tron universe is like but if you're only looking for a film with interesting new ideas or just an old fashioned exercise in effects and action, Tron: Legacy doesn't alienate new fans with a need to view the original. As I have stated, there are some interesting new ideas for science fiction within this film, but many of them are half-baked (Who knows, maybe other films later on in years will try and traverse these questions?). Thus if you go in expecting a story as concise and crisp as say this year's Inception, you'll have to endure a bit of dissapointment. At the end of the day though, that's actually part of why I'd recommend it. New ideas for future films, and just a plain old fun effects film that will make many a Tron fan gitty. As for the future, we'll see if anything else is in store for the Tron universe in later years, hopefully having something good for a franchise with the potential to grow bigger than ever thought possible.
Whew. That took a lot. So everybody there you have it. My Tron: Legacy review. I had fun with the movie and if you haven't got it by now, I would recommend it obviously, me being a fan since I was a kid and a fan of effects films as well. Also part of my growing newfound respect for Disney in general since starting last year they actually have been getting good again I think. Sure they have been doing some stupid things but not as many as they used to, and I hope those stupid things do manage to clear up soon enough to allow for a third golden age of sorts.

Great news people, it is that time of year where I have advanced another year on my timeline. That's right, B-Day instead of D-Day today. Anybody who hasn't kept track as of late, that makes me 22 as of today. Almost done with College, not sure where I'll be going after that yet.
It was a pretty eventuful day considering I had some relatives over and a really big dinner. My sister also baked a cake for me again. What I got this year has been pretty nice as well, I have John Stewart's Earth: The Book. His last book America: The Book was an outstanding work, and I've been anticipant to check out this new one. Also good news for the video making department, my parents got me a Flip Video Mino HD device, basically a cellphone sized video camera I only have to plug into my computer and it downloads almost instantly. I hope to put this new gadget to use some time soon, we'll see if I can. What's even better is that I can easily capture game footage off a TV with just by using some cables. Probably the only downside is that it only captures about an hour of footage but I don't think I'll try and upload vidoes that long.
Just felt like throwing this out there since I pretty much have been posting birthday blogs since my first time here on Gamespot, Ihope tostill have have something to add for Sunday though. Sometime around that time, I want to see TRON: Legacy! For folks like myself it will be a nostalgic romp through ones childhood memories as much as a sweet new adventure into what computer animation is capable of doing. I am pretty interested in seeing how this film will follow the first one as well, again we'll see if it does that.
Enough about me though, it's still another 8 days until a far more important day comes up anyway.

Sunday Ramblings: Christmas Plans and Final
by Myviewing on Comments
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere I go. Must be because I live in a drugstore. This is Sunday Ramblings!
Great news guys, December has made its presenec known in this Northern Hemisphere I live in. It is snowing a lot even right now before it's time for sack hitting. Sorry global warming faithful, I'm not buying it. :P
My weekly pick up this week? Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition. You see, this game just came out today on the Wii and is only $30 for the four games on the SNES version, as well as a soundtrack CD and a manual talking about the history of Mario. Haven't gotten around to playing it because I've had to study all day today after getting off work, hope to get around to playing it soon. Might be the last game I'll buy this year until Christmas, I'll have to see if I get any gift cards or any relatives have any in mind. Lucky for me I don't have to go anywhere this year since every now and then me and my family goes to visit my grandparents in South Carolina, but we at least get to save on gas this time and there's no need to worry about car boredom either.
Well anyway, it's time for D-Day tomorrow. Tomorrow I have my final exam for this semester and I will finally be done with this semester. Not too much of a differnce though because as you may have picked up from my previous blogs, I pretty much go to work more often than I do going to college these days. Being paid for it isn't too bad though. I can only hope for the best tomorrow, might be able to start doing more entertaining stuff from then on with the Winter break, maybe we'll see.

Sunday Ramblings: DS Time, Force Unleashed III?, Maybe More Interesting Stuff
by Myviewing on Comments
If the ruleis "eye for eye, tooth for tooth" then why is there no eye fairy? This is Sunday Ramblings!
Well I'm pretty sure I have posted this on a Sunday this time.I haven't been able to write up my End Begins and Possiblities part 2 blog because of a lot of work and studying I've had to do. As the year winds down, I have picked up a number of games, some I have been able to play, some not yet. I have the Red Dead Redemtpion Nightmare Pack and Professor Layton and the Unwound Future neither of which I have yet to play yet. Maybe some time later.
I also have Atari Clas sics Volume 1 on the DS, basically a compilation of 50 Atari 2600 games and arcade games, which is pretty good for me because I've always wanted to play 2600 games like Adventure andSky Diver and several neat arcade ports which were ported pretty nicely, I haven't had any technical issues so far. The graphics are obviously severely dated and the gameplay simplistic by today's standards, but if you've ever wanted to play some early 80s magic in gaming, you could do worse for $30. Oh yeah and anybody else think E.T. should be included in Volume 2? :P
I have Golden Sun Dark Dawn, I love this game. The only real problem I've had so far is that I've found out is that some of the Djinn and Summons are actually permanently missable in the story. Thankfully I was only about 6 hours into my first playthrough and I've recently started it up again, this time making sure I get all of the Djinn and Summons possible. My only real complaint so far, I'm very thankful the folks at Nintendo have finally made a new entry. The two on the GBA are two of the best games available for the handheld, and Dark Dawn is one of the best for the DS. Unquestioned. One interesting quote from Nintendo I've read recentlty on the Golden Sun Wiki though is that the first two GBA games were actually a prologue to the main story and that Dark Dawn from this point on is apparently the overall story of the series. So does this mean future sequels? I have my fingers crossed while holding my breath at the same time.
I have also recently got Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II a few days ago and beat it yesterday. A prettyshort but overall enjoyable and fun game. If you liked the first one in terms of gameplay, you'll enjoy this one too. I've played the 360 version anyway, I'll try and get the Wii version next time I have a chance. Mostly I have a bit of wonder in regards to the endings though.
First one is the Light Side ending, do you guys think there will be a Force Unleashed III?Considering howthe endingwas done I think thereprobably might be. I'm going to unleash some spoilers here, if you plan on playing the game in the future, do not highlight the following text. On the Light Side ending, Starkiller spares Vader and the rebels take him into custody to take to Dantooine for trial. Starkiller then claims that he's free of Vader but Vader then says that as long as Juno lives, Starkiller will always be under his control somehow. Then it ends with the rebels entering hyperspace and the Slave I following, then the credits roll. Then there's the Dark Side ending which yes this game has two possible endings like the first one. This one I can really only spoil in the following way: Who wrote this ending? M. Night Shyamalan?! Yeah it was pretty bad and I think it was meant to be an alternate history ending, though at the same time I think it's as likely the canon ending as much as the Light Side ending. I suppose unless DLC is made or the next game comes out then we probably won't know for some time. If there is going to be a Force Unleashed III though, it's likely going to be running on a very tight stretch since Force Unleashed II takes place in the year 1 BBY (Before theBattle of Yavin), so maybe the events following will be an account of events that lead up to A New Hope? I sure hope this can be answered eventually, it's had me a bit twisty last night.
And with my weekly report of gaming done, I think I'll wrap this up. I do have to study for my next Sociology exam and get ready for this year in College to wind down overall. Maybe once I have more free time I'll be able to write up something interesting and hopefully write up the reviews that I have been wanting to do for the longest time.

Sunday Ramblings: The End Begins and the Possiblities It Brings Part 1
by Myviewing on Comments
How firm is John McCain on his stance of Don't Ask Don't Tell? So firm that even he doesn't even agree with himself on his stance. This is Sunday Ramblings!
So people, I have just got home from work and the only really worthwhile thing I have to talk about is what I have done today. Today I have at long last (In hype terms) seen Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.
If you've been under a rock for the last nine years, the Harry Potter franchise is now winding down to the final book, but with the obvious subtitle inserted, it's clear that this isn't exactly the final installment as of yet (that will come July of next year).
With Dumbledore dead, a shaken Harry, Ron and Hermoine must flee from their families from the overarching storm that is Voldemort and his army now in charge of the Ministry of Magic. The trio must now embark on a crusade to find the four remaining Horcruxes that will destroy Voldemort forever before the Muggle world is subject to the Dark Lord's wrath. That's the basic overall plot of the film and without giving too much away, the film is conclusive in the same way 95% of trilogy part twos are conclusive. Thankfully with the obvious setting and foreground, Deathly Hallows Part 1 makes sure to tell the audience that it is only one part of an overall grand finale.
Of course you might wonder, "Is it in general a good film on its own?" I can certainly say so for anyone expecting a faithful adaptation of the first half of the book or an emotional thrill rollercoaster of an adventure. As you might know by now the film is faithful to its source material and for better or worse everything that's been used to produce the Warner Bros. film saga is still in place be it the music or the actors, the music often being a tour de force of triumphant action and tension and none of the actors ever really sticking out to the point of being painful and a number even doing their job exceptionally.
It has amazingly been a pretty remarkable decade for the Harry Potter book series to bring its seven books to the silver screen, and it's nice to see that a series of overall good directors and production investments were able to make this series worthwhile for anyone. It is true that since Part 1 isn't a definitively ending film that the ending may end up feeling a bit defeatist, and the only other real problem is that minor parts have been removed but were nothing really to hollow out this portion of the story. I would say that if you plan on seeing Deathly Hallows Part 1, chances are you know what you're going in to see, just be ready for Part 2 once it happens.
Those are my overall thoughts on the film, I do have other things to write up some time latter, but I have to go to bed soon so I can go in to work tomorrow. Don't worry, you won't have to wait for another six months to read that Part 2.
