@xOmniCloudx: I thought that the term "Remaster" came from film and music, and referred to the "Master" copy. That just means it's the original version that all copies and edits are made from.
So to "remaster" is just to replace the original, and be like "THIS is the main version from now on. All copies and modded versions should use this as the starting point".
So unless I'm mistaken, a remaster and remake can even be the same thing, as long as someone who owns the rights declares the remake to be a replacement of the original.
Is Monster Hunter's story and dialogue that important? I was under the impression that these games were mostly combat and grinding for loot. I played the Japanese version of Musou Orochi Z, and it wasn't that big a difference once you figure out which kanji translates to which weapon upgrades. I would think Monster Hunter would be similar.
I just hope they bother to get them working right this time. Very few of my original Xbox games worked correctly on X360, even though they were on the compatible list.
@putaspongeon: Not everybody stays broke forever. Dumbasses usually do, but the people who just need to work their way up to a better job or wait for their kids to grow up will eventually have more disposable income. If I was a game developer, I would want as many people as possible to try and like my games, because it makes it easier to generate buzz for the next game.
@lcrava: Some devs should be thanking hackers. I've bought games where my on-disc version wouldn't run, and the devs never released a fix. But the no-disc cracking worked and kept me from having to return their game.
Better than I was expecting. It's cheap, and still offers some games. If the online play works properly, I might do this if I get any multiplayer games when there are enough good games for my family to want one.
