@bez1212: Don't worry, they won't try to sell you 6 year old games. They'll learn from MS and Sony and start selling remasters of games that are 1 year old.

Does Nintendo really have such high operating expenses that they have no money or assets saved? I'm pretty sure that the WiiU was the first main Nintendo console to lose money, so I guess the prevailing theory is that they've just barely been recovering from the Virtual Boy for the last 20 years and the WiiU and Switch will finish them off?

@loudroom: Same here. I was willing to take a chance with the limited launch line-up when I assumed that this would be the lower-priced alternative to letting your kids destroy a PS4 or X1. Now after seeing the price, I don't see why I would buy this over a PS4, which already has several good exclusives I've been telling myself I can live without.

Switch isn't region locked, so just import it.

@CallMeDuraSouka: Kids and casuals will probably like whatever that party game was, and Arms and Splatoon 2. And Legend Of Zelda is the one fantasy action/adventure series that everyone has heard of. I don't think the games missed the mark for casual audience and families.

I think they will have the same problem with it that I did. I was excited about the Switch up until I found out that it was $300, and that we will have to pay a fee for Nintendo's online service, which will likely still suck.

I see this working well in Japan where gaming has been in a slump and gamers are looking for a new gimmick to keep them excited. In the west, traditional consoles are doing well and you can get one for the same price, plus we already have a silly gimmick (VR) to distract people who are tired of normal games.

@doctor_mg: Dude, don't bother. You will never get through to the morons on the Internet who don't understand production costs vs. Revenue and similar concepts that affect hardware manufacturers.

To them, unless your main games center around being in gangs or screaming obscenities and racial slurs while pretending to be a badass soldier, you are failing. Much like the music industry, even if what you are doing is selling well enough, you are a failure if you are not a collection of cliches of what 17 year olds think is cool.

@alaannn: This app that is going away used to be it. I'm sure if you look around on PS store or Xbox Live you will find an ad linking to where you can purchase and watch the next one.

@maitkarro: I tried to watch a couple of UFC events on my PS3 and it tended to disconnect at random times and make you restart while you muss stuff. They could be giving up simply because PS3 couldn't handle it well.

This is one of the very few games I would buy a remaster of. But if it's just a re-release, I can get the disc I still own to look better on my PC.

It's fine that only the most obvious games won in almost every category, but then why even start a new award program if it's just going to cater to the same games that already won 10 other awards anyway? Are the silly hipster category titles really going to be worth paying attention to when they're the only thing about this that wasn't beat to death before it started?
