@xantufrog: So it will be the same. Older audiences were mixed on the first two, to the point where Ico can be considered a bomb in America.

@suicidesn0wman: Yeah, that's the same reason I don't use them. They present themselves as an alternative to traditional cable and satellite, but they already do the main thing that makes those companies intolerable to me.

@gamingdevil800: Not directly, but as the publisher they can mess with companies who don't support their gamer-milking initiatives. Supermassive could find that there are significantly more stipulations to the deal the next time they pitch a game idea to Sony. As the console maker, you always have a fair degree of control, as long as the software developer isn't so huge and in-demand that you truly need their game on your console.

They can expect a guaranteed sale from every idiot on Youtube who plays indie horror games amd pretends to scream like a girl and pee his pants at every lame attempt to startle the player.

@zeca04: I was more curious about the PC version, because I think if it's calibrated right a keyboard and mouse could control those sections better. At least isometric view RTSs work better that way.

@Xirtahm: Same here, although I've often thought about going back to finish it. What were you playing on? I had the PS3 version, so I wonder if those parts would work better on PC

So Hello Games couldn't have any help from Sony for an ambitious game concept that 6 people need to finish before Sony makes them rush the release. But Team Ico gets 10 years for a full staff to finish a PS2 game, and remake it for 2 more console generations before having to release it.

Sony clearly did not give a shit about this being good, they were just there for the hype and cash-in.

These are all new features for some special mode? I don't play many FPS games, so I would have assumed that stuff like body-part-specific damage would have been standard features years ago. No wonder people make fun of AAA shooters.

@so_hai: Those of us who play other consoles not made by Nintendo are familiar with the Musou series. It's all those games Koei makes with "Warriors" in the English titles, and they're synonymous with repetition and rehashing.

Anyway, Hyrule Warriors is a rehash of about 8 button-mashing games about Chinese history, as well as many similar reskins starring Samurai and Gundam and stuff.

But I do agree that Nintendo gets undue criticism for rehashing. Sure they do it some, but no more than any other major publisher that has had successful ideas. And the games that result usually range from good to amazing.

@R4gn4r0k: I'm never going to follow this too closely, but my guess would be the outrageous development and marketing costs of at least 2 AAA titles that have not had time to make up that money in sales yet.

I'm surprised too, though. I always assumed that with such a huge selection of both popular and obscure titles that still sell a little bit each month, that it would provide sort of a buffer to make it hard to lose money.
