Well Star Wars started as a sci-fi retelling of the Japanese film "The Hidden Fortress" anyway, so it's only appropriate that the Japanese steal it back.
Although George Lucas did change enough that I probably wouldn't have noticed that the two movies were related if he hadn’t mentioned it in interviews.
@jhcho2: The analogy would be more appropriate if you mentioned that the inventor ran an ad campaign featuring burglars breaking into houses with the tool, because in this case there is really no question what the program was going to be used for.
@Spanky226: Do you know if they finally got LOTR:War in the North working? That was the only game I've played that was glitched on 10 to the point that it couldn't be finished.
@slakor: I actually like procedurally generated stuff, but it's usually not random enough to keep areas from feeling the same after a few playthroughs. The reason it won't compare with Spore's creatures is because that game basically made every player a designer, so it enjoyed the same amount of creatures that could be generated procedurally, but all designed by hand. A typical designer at a game developer won't come up with as much stuff.
@Miroku_of_Nite1: Except that, sadly. There's no way the creatures will be nearly as interesting. Even if their random Creature generator turns out to be very good, there's no way it will compete with the creatures of thousands of users who were purposefully designing them to be weird and unique.
@KohPhiPhi2: I also can't shake the feeling that the majority of the quintillion "different" will be similar enough to feel like you're visiting the same 10 repeatedly.
