Haha, any more delays and the sequel will be available before the original.
But seriously, does anyone know if the Japanese fans have been trashing the game this much? If the reaction in Asian countries has been positive, that could be why he's still talking about merchandise. People forget that there's another side of the world where everyone loves Dynasty Warriors and nobody buys Call of Duty.
@Sohereiam: It says on their site that it just activates the GOG version for you, so they will be DRM-free. If GOG had exclusive extras for a particular game, you would probably get those too!
@justerthought: I thought that Timesplitters and Red Faction were fairly big hits when they were new. On top of that, I'm pretty sure Primal was a huge bomb in sales terms. I'm not sure what criteria they use to select these, but it's probably just in order of which ones need the least tweaks to the emulation program to work properly, much like Xbox360's lazy BC.
@a687947: On consoles this might get old quick, but if it develops a decent modding community on PC you should eventually be able to build a massive library of possible things to encounter that should cut down on how much you run into the same stuff.
@Carpetfluff: Hey, someone besides me finally brought up the "don't do optional stuff if you don't like it" point! I had given up trying to tell people that years ago, when someone in every thread about Morrowind was like "The game is pointless after you find this one armor or weapon, because then you're invincible". And I was the only one who was like "Did you try not equipping it? "
Cheat programs are one thing, but I don't think I'll ever risk buying a game where the devs say they will punish me for discovering all the bugs they left in it.
@CaptWaffle: Publishers could do this themselves and have 100% of the profits. All it would take is a section of their website with a trade-in program. If they really want to compete with GameStop, they could offer extra incentives and it should still be easy to make another profit when that copy sells again. They must either not think it's worth the effort, or not know that the year is 2016.
