About what I expected.
Pretty much only first party and indie titles are gonna be 4K. And you're not gonna get any 60FPS games where it was 30 on the standard consoles due to CPU limitations.
Except, no. Shadow Of War, a gorgeous, huge, open-world 3rd party game has been CONFIRMED as running at native 4k on X1X. Can none of the haters on this forum do the most basic of research before just spouting off complete bullshit? It would be complete nonsense to think this is the only 3rd party AAA that will achieve this level of performance.
No FPS improvements eh? Is that why Ark, a game that had trouble maintaining 30fps on X1 is running at 60fps on X1X?
ARK is an indie game that isn't finished (subject to change), and isn't shadow of war just a sequel to a game that run on PS3? It's not all that impressive to be honest especially at 30FPS.
Don't get me wrong I think PS4 PRO is a waste of time as well, but at least it had a purpose of making VR semi viable.
Ark is an indie game, it's also a very demanding one that high end PC GPUs have issues with. But the fact that it's an indie game has nothing to do with 4k, it's slated to run at 1080p on the 1X, the point is the jump in frames, which you said would not happen, and the Ark dev has already confirmed the 1X version will feature the equivalent of PC ultra settings for things like shadows, reflections, etc, while the Pro will not.
Shadow of War is the sequel to Shadow Of Mordor, which was a game that ran on last gen consoles but as you seem unfamiliar with the games, the 360/PS3 versions were severely gimped, lesser experiences, and there's damn good reason, moreso than the passing of just 3 years since that release, why Shadow Of War is NOT on last gen systems. What your trying to say is that GTA V on 360 is the same as playing it on PC in 4k, 60+fps, ultra settings...that's not the same visual experience, just because the raw code happened to run on last gen systems. Mordor seems to me to have been developed for current gen, and shoe horned, on command by their publisher for a little sales bump, onto last gen even though it barely runs at an acceptable level.

The crux of it is that entire passages of play unfold at 10-20fps, even while exploring Mordor's wastelands without a marauding Uruk in sight. Frame-rates are better on Xbox 360 by a regular 5fps margin, but both suffer from horrendous screen-tear, operating at a Vita-esque resolution of 960x540 to boot.
I've watched downloaded, full 4k quality footage of Shadow Of War on a 4k TV and it looks gorgeous and significantly better than when I play Shadow Of Mordor on my X1.
There are also reports that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be 4k native on X1X.

Still sticking with only 1st party and indie titles?
