About what I expected.

Pretty much only first party and indie titles are gonna be 4K. And you're not gonna get any 60FPS games where it was 30 on the standard consoles due to CPU limitations.

Except, no. Shadow Of War, a gorgeous, huge, open-world 3rd party game has been CONFIRMED as running at native 4k on X1X. Can none of the haters on this forum do the most basic of research before just spouting off complete bullshit? It would be complete nonsense to think this is the only 3rd party AAA that will achieve this level of performance.

No FPS improvements eh? Is that why Ark, a game that had trouble maintaining 30fps on X1 is running at 60fps on X1X?

ARK is an indie game that isn't finished (subject to change), and isn't shadow of war just a sequel to a game that run on PS3? It's not all that impressive to be honest especially at 30FPS.

Don't get me wrong I think PS4 PRO is a waste of time as well, but at least it had a purpose of making VR semi viable.

Ark is an indie game, it's also a very demanding one that high end PC GPUs have issues with. But the fact that it's an indie game has nothing to do with 4k, it's slated to run at 1080p on the 1X, the point is the jump in frames, which you said would not happen, and the Ark dev has already confirmed the 1X version will feature the equivalent of PC ultra settings for things like shadows, reflections, etc, while the Pro will not.

Shadow of War is the sequel to Shadow Of Mordor, which was a game that ran on last gen consoles but as you seem unfamiliar with the games, the 360/PS3 versions were severely gimped, lesser experiences, and there's damn good reason, moreso than the passing of just 3 years since that release, why Shadow Of War is NOT on last gen systems. What your trying to say is that GTA V on 360 is the same as playing it on PC in 4k, 60+fps, ultra settings...that's not the same visual experience, just because the raw code happened to run on last gen systems. Mordor seems to me to have been developed for current gen, and shoe horned, on command by their publisher for a little sales bump, onto last gen even though it barely runs at an acceptable level.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-shadow-of-mordor-last-gen-revisited

The crux of it is that entire passages of play unfold at 10-20fps, even while exploring Mordor's wastelands without a marauding Uruk in sight. Frame-rates are better on Xbox 360 by a regular 5fps margin, but both suffer from horrendous screen-tear, operating at a Vita-esque resolution of 960x540 to boot.

I've watched downloaded, full 4k quality footage of Shadow Of War on a 4k TV and it looks gorgeous and significantly better than when I play Shadow Of Mordor on my X1.

There are also reports that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be 4k native on X1X.

Still sticking with only 1st party and indie titles?

Take a close look at the PS4 Anthem trailer. At 3:40 and 4:37 slow the video down and you can see the Xbox LB/RB button prompts turn to L1/R1 LMAO Sony wont even use their own footage

I saw that too! HILARIOUS! And of course, OP and the usual Playstation herd has yet to comment on this!

Anthem may not be native 4k on X1X, but apparently Sony still thinks highly enough of how it looks to JACK the footage to show on their own channel, to hype PS owners on a game that will never even look that good even if they have a Pro.

Talk about LIES and DECEPTION.

If MS took Pro footage to show how a game would look on base X1, there would be a 50 page thread here that would last for 2-3 years.

Sony shills IGN recently posted a Crash remaster video with 4k 60fps in title as if Pro could run it that way, more lies.

The big takeaway from this thread is, Sony thinks Anthem on X1X looks HIGHLY marketable, and Sony lied again.

Pre order cancelled.

I am seriously so sick of Microsoft PR blowing smoke up my ass, and blowing smoke up every other gullible lemmings ass.

They pulled the same shit with the original X1, promising Secret Sauce and Cloud Powers, only to have lower resolutions than PS4 versions since since 2013.

Did you even watch the DF anthem video? They have to freaking zoom way in on a frozen frame to notice some little flicker, indicating checkerboard rendering. Is this really the crap you pay attention to when your in the middle of multiplayer fast paced combat? You are being ridiculous.

If your a console gamer, no console will run this game better than the 1X. Also as the other guy said, if you canceled anything it was in your own mind, as preorders have yet to open for 1X.

And as far as your cloud talk goes...can't use power of cloud for everyone's single player games when the always online e3 2013 feature was mass rejected by stone age gamers without proper internet in 2013. Cloud is being used in Crackdown 3 multiplayer.

Maybe when they make an XBone Z, it will be the True True True True 4K console? We are talking about the console maker that didn't ever really get 1080p right until now.

Maybe...in the meantime PS4 Proers will be 1440p-ing it till 2020 or beyond.

Greatness truly does...await.

The funny thing is landmark PS4 releases like Spiderman won't be native 4k but I'd say there's a 75% chance the 2 new 1st party IP games MS is confirmed to be working on will be.

TELLING.

@xxyetixx: Sorry, a true 4k console without compromise would run games in 4k without compromise. The X1X =/= a true 4K console. Checkerboard is checkerboard, as they say.

So they should've marketed it with the huge font 100 graphic of: The sometimes native 4k console, cause that's how marketing works, right?

Guys, the point is MS lied. This is not a "true 4k" console. And as for "no compromises", or whatever it was that Phil said, well, the evidence should speak for itself. Compromises galore on the X1X.

No, they didn't. X1X tech white papers have been available, since I believe, even before DF specs reveal that indicated by Microsoft how 4k graphics could be achieved by alternate means, in the event native 4k wasn't possible or a differing resolution was considered optimum by a developer.

True is not the same word as native, that's just marketing speak like any big tech company uses, not a literal EVERY GAME 4k/60 GUARANTEED like you want it to be, and MS only develops their own games, not everyone else's. It's not like it's topping out at 1440p like the Pro does for the most part. Just because a game isn't constantly running at full 2160p doesn't mean it's not running in 4k mostly, we won't know what the true performance of games like AC:O is until release. And certain games, including the only games MS has full control over, their 1st party are proving they can run at native 4k, so there are no lies, just the Sony/PC bias of you and other haters.

Compromises galore when it comes to running EVERY GAME at native 4k on any high end PC. If you knew anything about what AAA games have been running like on top end PCs and what the 1X's specs were you wouldn't be making a fool of yourself trying to play a 'got ya' game with MS that exists only in your own minds.

Lol so lemmings are paying $100 for the same checkerboard 4k they made so much fun of LMFAO.

Except, no. PS4 Pro barely runs anything at native 4k, and X1X has 4k native games. Also with games that use checkerboard or sparse rendering it's still going to dip from that full 4k image less than the Pro. You post and post about Xbox fans having premature expectations when you continually come to premature conclusions about the performance of unfinished, unreleased games on an unreleased console.

You are pushing so hard on your bullshit agenda you can't even own up to this. Nobody really knows how much, if at all X1X is coming short of a native 4k mark until final DF analysis comes out, comparing to PS4 Pro and 1070.

There is no PC that runs everything butter smooth and 4k native. Every device is currently compromising to create a 4k image. And the truth is, if you haters were to be given a test between a 4k checkerboarded image and 4k native from a normal viewing distance, you probably couldn't tell the difference. What I'm not hearing is this game and that running in 1440p like on the Pro.

Bottomline X1X outperforms the Pro and none of these bullshit threads do anything to change that. Everything the X1X does graphically should be looked at from the perspective of the limitations of the X1, which many times has been unable to run things in full 1080p. X1X is the huge leap in performance those who enjoy playing on Xbox have been wanting. Also, 4k blu ray player and everything else the 1X does the Pro can't, which is a lot, is why it's 100 more.

and you know the thing that bugs me about this, the whole time, they've been talking about resolution, resolution, resolution....what about detail, settings, and capability? You know, prettier explosions, better AI, faster load times, better networking, and stuff like that. Things that *gasp* matter.

X1X will yield improvement in those areas as well. Ark dev has stated the X1X version will have PC ultra graphic settings for lighting/shadows/water/etc.

I'd expect to see similar upgrades for many other games, resolution talk just gets the highest surface level attention.

And it's been confirmed X1X improves load times for X1, 360, and original Xbox games.

Shadow Of War devs have stated their world would take minutes to get up and running on X1, on their X1X dev kit it loads up within seconds.

I grabbed:

Voodoo Vince

Wolfenstein New Order (10)

Prototype Bundle (16.50)

and Metro redux bundle for 7.50, I didn't see this deal listed on xbox.com, found it on the console itself
