@b_o_l_h_a @Cappuccin0 @kljohns2 If you are seriously trying to claim that FFVII's battle system is not outdated in any way then you are blinded by heavy nostalgia goggles.

There's no way they could put it on the shelf in a store today and not get tons of people raging over it. The game requires a lot more than simply upping the graphics. It's not like the old FF where they could easily just redo the sprites and patch some simple things.

Based on my experience as a programmer I'd wager that it would be more time effective to remake the game from the bottom up. Regardless, it requires a lot of TLC.

@WidoMantis Mobile is the money maker. Why the hell would they fire those teams? That's where the low dev costs + high profit is coming from. Completely idiotic to get rid of one of the best ROI divisions in house.

Your idea about the RPG fans makes no sense. They obviously don't have a big slice of RPG fans because the games are not selling enough. Why would they focus on pleasing a small market and essentially lessen their sales of the game due to the target market shrinking. At this point the only thing that'll drive sales is expanding their target market and making their games enjoyable by everyone.

Let's pretend everyone who bought FFXIII was a SE fan. Those sales still weren't enough. So simply maintaining those numbers isn't going to do it. Your argument doesn't make sense. The slice of RPG fans is not great enough at this point.

A company reporting huge losses is not going to shrink back and target niche markets. The person that made that decision would get fired in the blink of an eye. I beg you to leave business decisions to people that actually know business. You cannot make business decisions purely off nostalgia or simply because you don't like something (like mobile games). It's about $$$.

@Namgis It's called a NDA. Prior to February 20th (or whatever the date was, I forget) no one could comment on Ps4 either -_-. The day it was announced all these game devs suddenly stated the games would be on the ps4 too.

No different here. NDA untill it's announced.

@Frostbite24 I'm sorry but if you are so wrapped up in your ideas of sexism that you think a multimillion dollar company is going to make a very impotart decision based off some sexual generalizations, that's sad.

This is the product of millions of dollars of research, testing, surveys, etc. You can chalk it up it sexism, it's called a target market. I guarentee you there have been thousands of market research teams that showed women different images and had them decide which one appealed to them the most.

Young men have higher insurance premiums. Red cars are more expensive to insure. Where are the white knights here? That's discrimination against car choice and men, right? No. It's proven statistics.

Every single decent business has a target market and their marketing is based off established market research.

@VarietyMage *spoilers*

Did you completely ignore the ending of 3? Obviously Juno is now the huge problem that needs to be fixed.

@Daemoroth @DanielDude97 @tonmoy89 Just go to 3. Everything is recapped. There's no need to play through Revelations/finish brotherhood.

I don't see how they will get around picking a canon ending if it's set after the events of ME3.

While the 3 endings were similar regarding colors, they all were vastly vastly different as far as consequences for the galaxy. Even if it was set 1000 years later, it would still be obvious which ending they chose or didn't choose. Do the reapers still exist? Does organic life exist? Answering those two questions can solidify which ending was "Canon"

@djmaster1994 @painpas What you just said is the essential problem of the past few Nintendo consoles. It's become ingrained in everyones mind that ONLY 1st party games from Nintendo are worthwhile/system sellers. Sony and Microsoft have tons of exclusive/multi plat 3rd party games that drive system sales.

It shouldn't have to be a Nintendo game to be worthwhile. There should be good 3rd party games too. There are only a couple series even worthwhile though, Monster Hunter, Xenoblade, and a few other RPG. Beyond that the Wii was full of shovelware and mini games and 1st party gems.

@Karmazyn Extra configurable "hotkeys" could be one option. Menu could be another.

Plenty of options. It' snot going to be the whole game streamed onto the screen though.

I'll be getting it, but I do agree with the people who are saying it all feels pointless. That's the problem with mid-game DLC during a final game in a series. Especially when it ends like ME3 does.

What I do in this DLC doesn't change the fact that it's all irrelevant in the end and nothing changes. I wish they would've expanded on the "Breathe" ending with this final DLC, but I guess not.
