I'll be honest, I haven'tbeen much of aPC gamer in a loooong time (last PC game I bought was HL:2). However, I'm interested in purchasing a new computer and getting back into pc gaming.

basically...how would the following system hold up to games such as crysis, oblivion, bioshock, C&C3 etc..

CPU: (Sckt775)Intel® CoreTM 2 Duo E6600 CPU @ 2.4GHz 1066FSB 2x2MB L2 Cache EM64T

MOTHERBOARD: (Quad-Core Supports) Asus P5N-E nForce 650i SLI Chipset LGA775 FSB1333 DDR2 Mainboard

MEMORY: (Req.DDR2 MainBoard)2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 DDR2/800 Dual Channel Memory (Corsair Value Select or Major Brand)

VIDEO CARD:NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB 16X PCI Express (Major Brand Powered by NVIDIA)

I'm not trying to run every game on max settings or anything...just decently and with a nice framerate.

as I've said, I'm blissfully ignorant, so any advice would be helpful.

I think that by the time the price drop will actually be implemented it will be too little too late

they'd have to drop the price right now to really get some steam up going PAST the holidays IMHO

you act as if there's tens of thousands of people spending thousands of dollars to upgrade.

there aren't staggeringly large numbers of hardcore cutting-edge PC gamers, and there are even fewer of those who want to buy a PS3

[QUOTE="the-very-best"]I don't expect consumers to ignore Uncharted, Killzone, Ratchet and Clank Future, and GTAIV later this year.Rip870

Uncharted and Killzone will not sell consoles. Animal Crossing and Brain Age will sell consoles.

Though frankly I am anticipating Smash Bros Brawl (online) and Metroid Prime 3 (online) much more avidly.

I dont care about how many PS3 the casuals buy i want games with depht like MGS final fantasy. You sheep have fun with your

casual games and minigames.

.

ok..

and what about after MGS and FFXIII come out?

you'll have a small userbase of "hardcore" gamers while the wii has a huge userbase.

which do you think a third party developer would want to develop for?

You really belive that the ps3 will sell so little that 3dev abandon them. Sure i dont think the ps3 will be the same succes as the

ps2 but they will not meet the same end as GC did

I didn't say third parties would abandon them.

the only question is would third parties want to pour support into a system that would give them less money.

in the end it's all about the money.

well I'm excited

of course it probably won't be as...epic/widescale as some of the other games.

hopefully it'll be just as cinematic though.

[QUOTE="angelfly"][QUOTE="elementz28"]Capcom loves bending over for microsoft..if dead rising and lost planet did so well on the xbox360..why not releaese it on the ps3 and get more money..capcom you suck literally..elementz28

Cut capcom some slack everyone knows the ps3 userbase is too small to give capcom a decent return on the cost of making dmc4.

capcom is bunch of pigs out for money..they take the risk of dead rising and lost planet comin to the 360 and they dont want to do it with the ps3..lmao.. sharing the games to their fans what load of crap..

so now we're getting mad at companies because...they actually want to make money?

shocking.

hehe, I died more on the first village than any other part of the game.

I think it's just cause you have to get used to it, and it starts off with a level very challenging to beginners.

just learn to only shoot if you know your bullet is going to do something effective...don't just blast away into a zombie's stomach.
