@emprahtoddler: What? Most pointless creation since the Playstation? Really? Kinda reeks of fanboyism right there. The PS1 and PS2 are some of the best consoles ever, dude.
@ghost140: It being the new norm is HORRIBLE for consumers. It is a terrible business practice that needs to stop, and the only way that it will is people stop giving money to these damn companies so they can continually screw them over and over again.
Congratulations everyone. Keep supporting awful things like micro-transactions in full $60 games and start the slow murder of the industry and the slow choking of your wallets when they start releasing the games piece-meal with more and more stuff locked behind a paywall. Keep it up, guys. You are doing great. :/
The only reason Jurassic World can even be considered the second best in the franchise is because Lost World and 3 were both insultingly horrible. There is absolutely no way that this can get dragged on for two more movies. It is only downhill from here. I expect it to end with some dino-human hybrids like that original idea for JP4 that was floating around a few years ago. The fact that this series is getting further away from the core ideas of the original movie and going full-on Sci-Fi Original movie territory from the looks of things, well... I'm just not interested. Jurassic World only blew my expectations away because I didn't have any expectations of it being good what so ever, so what it did well was genuinely surprising. It still has a significant number of problems. The dinos saved this from being a complete mess, really. Lol.
@seyiagboola: And all my friends that are girls play game consoles or PC games. So we even each other out. You can't have an assumption like that at all. I know plenty of guys that don't play games, either. So where does that leave this discussion? My experience meeting people is different than yours. Shocker, I know. You can't look at this narrow-mindedly. You have to broaden the scope, and when you do that, you would be extremely surprised how many girls probably enjoy actual games.
@The_Mystery_Box: It may not be intentional, but it can come off that way. It is more about the first thought that comes to the front is that how many don't know the difference between tablets and consoles. That is just silly. Gaming consoles have been on the market for so long and are ingrained in our culture so much at this point that it seems unlikely that even a small minute fraction of people interviewed would be confused by the difference of a game system and a tablet. Some of them might have been, but that is probably, at best, 2%, and that is probably counting the men in that as well.
@The_Mystery_Box: Good response. Not. I am not taking issue with people complaining about just the study. That is all fine and good and I can agree with that fact when it is broken down. HOWEVER, the responses in here are not what I would call just fair criticism. Why would the first thought almost uniformly be "how many women don't know the difference between tablets and consoles" or "how many just bought them for their kids/men and don't play REAL games." THAT is what I have a problem with. Those shouldn't be the responses. It is eye-rolling and quite ridiculous. Sensible questions like how the study was conducted, how many men answered compared to women, etc. THOSE are real complaints to have. Cause all it seems like to me in this "discussion" is the vibe that "girls don't play real games. This survey is a lie."
@Chr0noid: I wish they didn't care. If they didn't care than a lot of these comments wouldn't be showing up about women just buying consoles for their sons or whatever. It seems to hit a cord with some people for whatever reason.
Also, your comment about women not playing REAL games is part of the problem. The thing is that they ARE playing real games on PC and consoles more now than ever. Time to move on and let things be inclusive. The boy's only club shouldn't be a thing here. :/
