Seriously, are we Wii owners because we like motion control or because we like Nintendo games? I believe that if Nintendo had released a newer higher spec 'cube they would of failed in the face of ms and sony. So it was neccessary to invent to Wii to keep the big N afloat. BUT do you like motion controls now they are here or would of as a nintendo gamer preferred all your new zeldas and marios with HD gfx and a standard controller?

Case and massive point - No more heroes!!! This game is FRESH! killer 7 is at its roots but i doubt this would of led to No more heroes if the Wii didn't exsist.

Well you could say its just you but that goes with out saying because we can't all like the exact same things, Im loving this gen myself and I think all 4 main platforms are well worth owning but if they aren't doing it for you by all means catch up on gems you missed.

On the subject of Ico it is an amazing game an all time great imo, SotC is also worth checking out and I believe they will have something out on the PS3 soon (I don't know what sorry) so worth keeping in mind ;). Lost in shadows is looking nice aswell if you own a Wii, infact that might not be a bad console for you seeing as it has the virtual console and some refreshing titles regardless of what people claim here (its not inundated with shooters you see).

I do own a Wii and thank god for that because if all i had was the XB360 i would of thrown the towel in totally on this gen. Mario Galaxy is a quality game make no mistake and i do like Metroid,Twilight princess etc etc and others but i suppose this highlights the point further in that the Wii is essentially a gamecube so when multiformat games are released they don't come to Wii so it makes its own way, mostly utter rubbish but some gems in there and maybe its this that makes gaming interesting, the trial and error of a developer willing to give it a go. Who dares develop a game on ps3 or XB360 with a huge budget without at least assuming the public would like it?

Vice city versus gta 4 another example of bells and whistles losing to the soul of last gen.

Metal gear solid for PS1 was new and fresh, on PS2 it was reborn looking and feeling different yet on PS3 its the same as the ps2 one but nicer gfx. Where's this gens Psychonauts, beyond good and evil, ico We don't even get a quality silent hill!

So you would rather play games with no back story, go point a to point b and pretty much can be beaten in an hour.

I love this gen compared to any other, there are gems in previous gens but saying this gen feels empty when the nes era had what?, that was an empty gen.

I did say year on year games had got better for me 'til this gen and i can't help but draw comparisons generations for example tomb raider then and now and note the lack of exploration has been replaced with nice graphics or resi 5 again nicer gfx but not a patch on the 'feel' of resi 4 and previous.

Could it be that whilst games are looking and feeling more like the real world they inturn offer less escapism which is at the root of a good game afterall.

I can't help it, every time i play a new game i always think yea good but somehow lifeless! What is wrong with this gen or is it me? I mean iv'e been a gamer since around 1980 and year on year gaming has always got more exciting for me but just recently i feel disconnected. An example would be Mass effect 2, amazing reviews etc etc yet i play it and think god this is has no soul?!?! So i might get myself a PS2 off Ebay and a copy of ICO (never played it but looks cool) anyone else share my weird regressive thought here?

This E3 build up has been all about Move and Natal, and yet quietly in their corner the big N are polishing their line up of Wii titles icluding some BIGGIES and hopefully some fresh meat too. Thing is the 3ds has the potential to steal the show and this is why they are such a great gaming company! Both Sony and MS are working their magic to refine Ninendos new idea(motion control) and grab a piece of the action only to see Nintendo already pulling the rug from beneath yet again on a newer idea. This year will be amazing for N if the big new titles arrive for Wii (Zelda,Metroid etc)

For me the best bits i enjoy in gaming are BOSS fights, perhqaps i'm an old skool gamer(been gaming 30 years/ish). The final boss on metroid prime was the most badass thing iv'e ever had to kill by a country mile! but i have never played shadow of colossus or monster hunter tri and wanted that thrill again.
