@elessarGObonzo Because torchlight II is a boring fantasy clone. Sure, it's cheap, but the experience is practically the same as nearly every other fantasy game like it that's come out. Whereas, Dishonored is a unique game with cool special powers, a world of the likes we've not seen in a game, and a choice driven gameplay design that allows you to play as you wish, a type of gameplay design that more games should use. But, you know, that's all just my opinion.
@hardeddie I'd replace Dishonored with Borderlands 2. It's a replica of the first game, an item-and-weapon fetch quest in which you go around blasting bad guys. But then that's just my opinion. Just like the popularity of Dishonored is the opinion of many others.
I was a bit surprised by the list, but I am glad they went with what they did. One thing I can't stand is that, if the big name games aren't on the list, then people moan about it. I disagree on a few of the games, but recognize their quality.
@tourdefist We must have played two different games because the game I played was great despite it's bugs. Maybe I am just one of the lucky few who didn't experience the game stopping glitches and bugs that others claim to have experienced, but the game I got was indeed a great game and worthy of all it's praise. It certainly didn't feel unfinished.
So glad this is as good as it is and I truly hope that this means it will be the best FPS of the year. I wasn't a big fan of Farcry 2. I like that they did something different with it, having the game take place in Africa, but the open ended gameplay became tedious and uninteresting as the environment itself was quite repetitive and exhausting to explore. I always enjoyed the island feel of the first game and it's still one of my favorite shooters of all time, so the return to the island setting is great for me. Can't wait to get my hands on this one.
